On what grounds? Teams keep their nicknames when changing cities all the time. Is there actually a baseball organization in Vegas known as the Athletics? Surely they can buy them off if so.

Who uses it? If it’s minor league or soccer or WNBA, get some heavies in there and convince them change would be good.
