Everyone still agrees that Rahm is still a top 10 golfer in the world
You can’t miss 2 out of 4 major cuts and be top 10

Ehh it’s on that line for his metrics He made 17 straight major cuts heading into liv Now, since joining, he is in danger of missing his second cut in just 4 majors played
He’s was clearly hurt part of last year and he’s certainly playing worse.
Golf is a game of 18-24 month runs for most players. How much is LIV and how much is he just not playing as well? Hard to say, in my opinion.

The two players with the least effect going to liv out of the major champs that went over is Koepka and Bryson
1 who only ever geared up for majors and the other who will hit on the range all day everyday
Maybe that’s a coincidence, but hard to ignore

I do think one thing that has been proven though is performance in LIV tournaments means nothing
It’s pretty much no indicator at all on on carrying over to the majors

Speaking of Bryson’s commitment to golf and the reference to him hitting 500 balls a day, the dude is literally closing the range down since he has arrived in Augusta. I think Golf Channel has a Bryson cam just to document him on the range. The dude has quirks but nobody can question his desire to succeed by redefining his body, his swing, and equipment. If anybody deserves to win this week it is him.

Those missed opportunities are just killing Rory he always looks like he’s forcing himself to relax

There’s dozens of the same guy on the PGA Tour too, which is kind of the point. Lucas Glover played good enough a couple of years ago to get a TGL spot as a “star” and hasn’t been relevant since. Whyndam won a US Open and got to top 5 in the world and has come back to earth. Little Brian Harmon beat everybodies arse at an Open. Homa went from a top 10 player to finishing DFL on the regular. Etc, etc.
The point I’m trying to make, is I don’t think we can really say with any confidence how much any players move to LIV (outside of the olds who very clearly quit) has to do with their current play over the normal ebbs and flows of golf

That -7 by Rose yesterday puts him in a comfortable place
This course aint getting any easier

It’s clearly easier right now than it was yesterday. That will likely change as the wind picks up, but there’s some good scores on the course right now

Hojgaard setting the course on fire today too.

LIV helped Bryson and freed him up a little and the move hurt Rahm
I actually believe this.
Rahm got so much money and some people do lose some of their drive when they have $400 million or whatever he got.
Just look at his masters finishes all time.

I don’t watch a ton these days, but when I do I like watching Bhatia. His game is fun.

Rose killing it again today
When Rose is on he’s elite, always has been. Issue is he’s rarely on for 4 straight rounds and his bad days are really bad.

I’d recommend the “Featured Groups” channel on the Masters website/app. It’s the best option when the TV broadcast isn’t on.
It will be better once next 2 groups tee off at 12 & 12:23. Only gotten bits & pieces of Dechambeau’s round today. Waiting for them to get to Amen corner
Posted on 4/11/25 at 11:28 am to JimTiger72
I’m sure this has been noted before, but how the hell is Bryson not a featured group? The most popular golfer on the planet and we can’t watch him.
