Same here. It reminded me of this 1986 #16

I thought tiger would win another major but I didn’t think he’d get another Masters or US Open. I would have guessed British or PGA Championship. I’d love to see this be leg one on another grand slam. Pebble Beach this year is about as good of an opportunity as he might get to win another US Open.

The guy looked like a focused, emotionless machine along a golf course the entire time. Any other player, maybe outside of Phil, would have been (and were) affected by the crowds and pressure

I always thought the Masters would be the one he would get because even in the time since Elin took a sand wedge to his face, he was still relatively contending at Augusta while everything else fell apart.

Yea, outside of maybe Bernhard Langer, Tiger knows how to get around Augusta better than anyone in that field.

Last time he won the masters, Katrina happened 4 months later. Make sure your flood insurance is paid up. Just in case.

Weird to see Tiger winning with mostly safe, conservative shots. I can't think of many risky, go for broke shots he even thought about attempting
I was thinking the same thing. It’ll be interesting to see, now that he’s won one, if he goes back to that aggressive confident style he used to play with.
I’m guessing this takes a huge weight off his shoulders and he plays a lot looser.

Him and Jack are known for being two of the most conservative players

I feel like people don’t remember Tiger much in his prime. He is an overly cautious player in general. And he can be because he was and still is one of, if not the best iron players in the world. He goes at flags that are safe to go at, and shoots middle of the green where he knows there is trouble. That is literally his hallmark
ETA: He’s not as good a putter these days, but he’s still great.
Think about the walk in birdie at 2000 PGA, 2008 US open he had a 15+’ shot for birdie to tie, etc

He's certainly never been aggressive as a whole, but he's had some huge moments in his career when he's made a calculated aggressive shot and it's paid off
I think the "aggressive" tiger people remember is the one that got into trouble off the tee and hit miraculous recoveries that virtually no one else could dream of. Not so much going for the bird or eagle when he should play safe. Moreso pulling a bird or par out after being in deep shite.

No doubt, and he did the same today. 7, 16c etc

I was at 18 when he won, it was electric. Really really cool to see

Did the lightning and rain show up this afternoon?

Absolutely incredible, scene at 18 didn't have a dry eye in the room. This 86, and 04 would have to be my favorites.

Tiger has played the first 8 par 5’s at -2. If he can play the next 8 at -5 or better he will win.

He also is the best there is at getting out of trouble to play up and down.
No one is better when it counts after a bad tee shot.

They go at the pins that are accessible and hit to the safe place on the risky pins. On 12, tiger hit it left over the bunker to the middle of the green just like Jack said to do. That’s the Finau, Molinari, Koepka, etc. water hole.
On 16, both Jack (in 86) and Tiger today fire away.

It at least rained some. Probably would have resulted in a stoppage in play.
