In Vegas, Tiger opened tied with Spieth as the favorite at 10/1. A lot of dumb bettors out there. People seriously thought he was gonna win

He was playing well, but with a small sample size and it wasn't like he was dominating (or winning at all, for that matter).

To expect him to come in and run shite at the Masters was always ridiculous

My only contribution to this thread is that I had a few classes with Patrick Reed's wife at LSU.

They bet with their hearts instead of their head. They confused wanting him to win with thinking he will win. They also overvalued his Valspar showing. Much weaker field and a course that does not stress the putter as much as Augusta does.

I think this was one of the hardest tournament fields to bet. There are a lot of guys playing good golf leading up to this week.

betting on who will win a golf tournament is dumb to begin with IMO.

It was a combination of him playing really well in multiple tournaments + his history at Augusta. He finished top 5 at the Palmer Invitational and 12th at the Honda Classic as well

Tiger's issues have not been with the putter but more so with the distance control of his irons. He had yet to play a course with all the hills and elevation changes Augusta has, and it's eating him alive. Very rarely has Tiger hit an approach shot with a realistic shot of making birdie. He's been above the hole or on an awkward side hill lie on the green almost every time. To make birdies at Augusta, it has more to do with where you are on the green than any other course these guys play.

Let's hope Tiger stays to the left of the pine straw.
