If Bryson didn't melt down on day one we would be having a great duel today

Everybody talks about driving and putting.. but a huge part of why Scottie is so good are his approach shots.. he always leaves himself 10-12 footers all day long. He just plays so steady.

Flipped over to the Sky Sports broadcast on the Peacock app again. Much less frequent commercials and more golf.

The open this year couldn't have been less interesting. Low scores everywhere, weather wasn't a factor, runaway winner, no real trouble areas on the course for the leader to come back to the pack...meh

Why does golf still have all those Marshall’s that raise their arms right before each shot? Seems pretty obvious to me when a player is about to hit.

If Gotterup hadn’t shot +1 day 1 he’d be right up there a few shots back of lead. Still impressed, he has found something starting last week. Tied for 3rd but 6 back of leader.

There was 50% chance of rain today but it goes up to 80% next 2 days. They just hit a weather window that is nice for that area.

Look at the crowd next to the tee boxes. They are 8-10 people deep. There are people in that crowd, or walking past that crowd at the tee box, that can not see the golfer. But they can see the "quiet please" card being raised and it helps to let them know that a player is over the ball.

The announcers are killing me. After hole 3, “Looks like Scottie will be playing conservative today.” Very next hole he hits a crazy left to right drive and puts his approach to 5 feet! I wish they wouldn’t feel the need to fill every single second with worthless drivel.

Gotta agree here.weather has been a huge non factor esp the winds being that close to the ocean. Like I said before today started this will be interesting only if you are interested in who finishes 2nd.

He didn’t melt day 1. The weather was actually a factor and he can’t play in anything besides good weather

His rounds show just how much weather matters here.

Everybody talks about his irons man. It’s the most talked about part of his game

He lost 5 shots to the field including 3.5 approaching the green

He has to shoot the second best round of the day to make the cut on the number

Gotta love Zach Johnson laughing at the idea of picking LIV guys last Ryder Cup and taking Rickie Fowler instead of Bryson. Zach arrogantly said, "how could I pick a LIV player when I never see them play?" His job was to pick the best American players and his was so filled with hubris that he selected a squad of has beens and chumps to go to Italy and get waxed.

Why is this better than the us open? All the bitching about bad golf. This easy blowout course is a snooze fest
