And you can't leave Spieth 2016 Masters off a choke job list considering what that's done to him.

Bro

Look at that 68% with 3% slope. That would be about 3-4 inches of break. Rorys broke a cup and a half.

Rewatching on the Sky Sports feed, Rory’s last putt hit something and veered right more than the natural slope

There has to be some point in the data where the shortness of the putt on the downhill severe slope is weighted MUCH higher than the slope and downhill of the 5 footer

The fact that yall are arguing over whether or not it was an historic choke or just a standard choke by Rory kind of makes it even more sad for he and lsucraig.

Yes, forgot about that one. And it really devastated him, as you point out.

I cant stand Rory. I just think it’s hilarious that someone is arguing he should have just “jammed it in” on 18.

His miss on 16 was 100x worse.

Spieth won the British open shortly after that. That didn’t effect him going forward

correct

On 16 he missed a putt with a make rate of 97%

On 18 he missed one with an 86-88% make rate

It's a Vandeveld type of crash and burn, but McIlroy could win Troon, maybe it won't make this choke ever go away, but it will definitely help take the sting out of it.

Thats from 5 feet. Over 2 foot further than Rory’s putt….

That chart is from FIVE FEET

Rory was inside 4….

A standard 5 foot putt with greater than 3% slope drops 8% in make percentage vs a flat 5 foot putt

So if you putt that same reduction in make rate to a 3’9” putt that would have Rory’s putt at roughly 85% make rate

FIVE FEET downhill, with almost no break is 75%.

You really think 4 feet with 7-10% of break is 86% make?

Rory will win another one by running away from the field early in round 4.

I would be very surprised if he comes back and wins at Troon.

I would not be surprised if he never wins another major.

This was a haunting loss.

Im doing simple math

A flat five foot putt drops 8% in make rate when going downhill and adding GREATER THAN 3% slope

So if you use that same reduction in make rate for a downhill 3’9” putt with greater than 3% slope you are looking at roughly 85%

I’m not using feel or opinions I’m using the data
