Anybody been to Pebble and have any recommendations on good holes to post up on? I've been fortunate enough to be able to go this year, and have never been to the course.

When I went to the US Open at Erin Hills, I enjoyed the par 3s the most. With the par 4s and 5s, they're so long and the drives so fast and far, that you can't follow the flight of the ball. And if you post up where those first shots are supposed to land, you don't know when they're incoming or who hit them. But with the par 3s you can see everything.

Is it wild to anyone else that Rory hasn’t won a major in 5 fricking years? Good lord.

That like pre-dates Tiger’s back problems I feel like
In the last 5(and maybe more) US Opens, Rory has the worst first round scoring average ON PLANET EARTH.

There isn’t a single player who has played in the last 5 who has done worse.

I feel like you can do some blended data from the pro-am cause this course is a yearly stop on tour

Phil Michelson and Paul Casey are the two favourites in my eyes

This isn’t a Rory/Rahm bombers course. Their advantage of hitting it far off the tee doesn’t help them here.

You need a great approach game, scrambling since the GIRs are typically 45-55% here & a decent putting game... also hitting it in the fairway is huge

Furyk & Kuch are my favorite longshots - Cantlay & fleetwood as the top tier guys

I took Horschel at 175/1

This is Kevin Na's favorite course, so I played him against Kaymer in H2H.

Also got Day vs Bryson Dechambeau, Adam Scott vs Hideki, and Spieth vs Cantlay.

8 Green 9 Tee should be a good spot. The shots into 8 green will be incredible, over the cliff and into a tiny green. If you can get a seat at 7 green that’ll be a great spot for par threes. 7 tee you may be able to see guys hitting into 6 green and you can see the shots into 7.

Played it about a month ago and they had most of the stands up. That shot into 8 is a beast.

If you look at the pro-am winnings over the last 4 years. I think Phil is coming for tiger’s major. Gonna get a piece for himself.
He thrives at pebble

ETA: it should be noted a lot of guys don’t play the pro-am

Saw on twitter that a year or so ago, Rory told Jason Sobel he was glad he had already won a US open. The usual setups don’t fit his game well. Congressional was basically a pitch and putt when he won

Phil will be lucky to make the cut. He's been playing poor lately, and Pebble Beach changes a ton from the Pro/Am to June

To each their own. Golf tournament is a long shot no matter who you back.

I’m a stats guy. I only trust what I can quantify. Phil seems to play well at pebble. I’m on board
