i used to wonder in the 90's/2000's why bengal players, jerseys were always sewn, or had shoe string, keeping sleeves and shirts together.

then found out the Bengals team rule, you get 1 home and 1 away, then you pay for new one or fix them.

All this came from an interview with Esiason himself. He made the ring of honor reference specifically. Also, his complaint is not about 2 free tickets. His complaint is that he & the others will be billed for their hotel rooms for that weekend. Several former players have complained about all the petty rules that the players are faced with: in the players' cafeteria they are only allowed one energy drink a day as one example.

NFL teams make money but they don't profit THAT much.

The NFL generates over 2 billion per year. Teams receive 300-400 million per year. This doesn’t include ticket sales, concessions, stadium licensing fees etc.

Why even own.

B/c sports teams have been guaranteed appreciating assets for several decades now. Mark Cuban bought the Mavs for $285 million and sold them for $3.5 billion.

No he was saying this about an email they sent out this year. Are you under the impression he’s getting inducted this year? He’s not. He’s already had his ceremony. He don’t have to go to this one. If he’s so offended, don’t go.

You proved the point you were trying to be antagonistic on. $50 mil profit when you have individual players that want $30 mil a year, is not a lot. $50 mil a year is a ton of money normally, but it’s all about the % of revenue and operating expenses.

There are soccer teams in Europe that essentially print money are still borderline bankrupt because they pay for transfer players and make even more bad financial decisions than the money they print.

Boomer Esiason is already in the ring of honor. I’m sure when he got in a couple years ago they took care of him. Everyone thinks he’s getting inducted this year. He’s not. Why would he need more than 2 free tickets. The guys getting inducted this year and their families will be taken care of

Came here to say this, I think they just invited the ROH ppl to come see a game.

What does this have to do with my point about them being "billionaires" on paper?
