That BS call needs its own thread

You can’t fricking call that to end an at-bat, much less a game, much less a series. For a 1B ump to call that in any situation, it has to be egregious and obvious. That’s fireable, imo. And as a Braves fan, I wanted the Dodgers to win anyway so we’d have home field. But not like that. Not like that.

You just cannot end a team’s season on that kind of call. It should absolutely be reviewable, but it’ll never be. We’ll bitch about it for a few days, Giants fans will remember for a few years, then it’ll fade away.

Balls and strikes aren’t reviewable. Which is why you have to MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE he swung to ring him up there. There’s nothing to bail you out of a bad call, so always, always, ALWAYS err on the side of no swing there.
I mean, if I’m the 1B ump, the dude could have corkscrewed himself around swinging 3 times, and if the home plate umpire doesn’t call it, I ain’t ringing him up in that situation.
