once you get to middle school, pretty much any subject is in play. this kid is 14 which means he's in 8th or 9th grade. he probably left the room, and told his friends later that it was hilarious listening to you talk about that shite

There's just so many outlets now to know about things that are going on it seems as if it has changed.

This is a good thing. At age 14, he should know about the birds and the bees anyway. Knowing about the perps and the pedos is probably a good idea. You should use this as a teachable moment so that he knows if he ever encounters someone like Sandusky he knows to fight back and report it to someone right away.

In the comment I was responding to, he asked if anyone can remember talking about people of the same sex having sex/being raped. He didn't mention pedophilia in that comment.

Being gay doesn't necessarily mean you are a pedophile but being a pedophile doesn't necessarily mean you aren't gay. Obivously some pedophiles prey on children of the same sex and some prey on children of the opposite sex. Please explain how preying on only a child of the same sex isn't gay?

Pedophelia is about power, not "love". Kinda like prison rape. Yes some pedophiles and some prisoners rape others of the same sex, but about having power over others.
All I'm saying is homosexuality and pedophilia are two entirely separate issues.
