QB is such a unique position in professional sports, a huge proportion of active NFL QBs have no business being in the league and are only there due to roster necessity.

For instance, there isn't an active NFL linebacker who is as bad at their job as Brandon Weeden is at his.

I would say the NFL QB position is very similar to college football head coaches in Power 5 conferences. There's a handful of exceptional coaches, a second tier of solid coaches who can win big depending on the right circumstances and then there's a bunch of guys who are in over their head and are better off as assistants or head coaches at G5 schools.
