quote:

With the NBA's free agency process officially beginning June 30, maintaining the Hornets on the no-contact list would likely prevent him from having any opportunity to play in the NBA," Trusty wrote. "Under the current ruling of the arbitrator, an inability to play for or against the Charlotte Hornets would constitute a 'failure to perform services' by Mr. Rozier and substantially diminish or eliminate any chance of being contracted by an NBA team."

I’d think being on the downside of his career and being considered unplayable BEFORE the scandal had a bigger effect.

If he was still capable of balling, someone would take a chance.

I would say being arrested for gambling on the NBA and his own team probably hurt his free agency a bit more

I’m pretty sure the point-shaving allegations are hurting his free agency more than the bond conditions.

Usually yes

In this case, probably not. At least not until the trial is over.

If teams are ok with players taking 10+ games off a year for load management, I am sure they would be fine with a player taking 2-4 games off a year due to bond conditions. Assuming they still want that player on their team

In fact, didn't the Hornets have a player that couldn't go to Canada for legal reasons a few seasons ago?

yes. Miles Bridges was denied entry to Canada because Canadian immigration wouldn't allow him to enter with a felony domestic violence charges..

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope also couldn't travel for road games in 2017 for about a month due to a work-release jail sentence stemming from a probation violation related to a DUI. He was able to leave jail to practice and play games in LA but he wasn't allowed to leave the state of California so he missed all the Lakers road games during that time

Oh, look. Another professional athlete thinking he’s above the law. Good thing he didn’t commit a life sentence felony like introducing the President.
