How about they do this with scammers in India instead of letting youtube guys work with the indian gov't to shut down these scammers. I'd rather the FBI spend time on that instead.

Yes — the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has worked with the Indian government, via the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), to shut down scammers and fraud networks.

Example

In August 2025, the CBI in coordination with the FBI dismantled a transnational tech-support fraud network that defrauded U.S. citizens of nearly USD 40 million.

He told someone, who then told someone else, who then made bets, but the middle man only got paid 5k for the info. Are we sure that Billups knew that they were making bets with that info? What’s his goal here? Obviously not money because it doesn’t sound like he made anything off of it and the middle man only made 5k.

by the sounds of it, being in on the poker scheme was quite profitable

Hard to take the NBA seriously when a coach admits tanking games at the end of the season in order to get better odds in the draft lottery. Might be a good idea to get rid of a system that promotes tanking games.

An indictment unsealed in Brooklyn on Thursday indicates that at least one fraudulent bet may have been made based on inside information about the N.B.A. star LeBron James, though Mr. James has not been accused of any wrongdoing.

That indictment, on a case officials called “Nothing but bet,” accused the Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier and Damon Jones, a former N.B.A. player and coach, of selling nonpublic information about games and players to gamblers who then used that inside information to place bets.

The indictment says that Mr. Jones used his relationship with an unnamed “Player 3,” the Los Angeles Lakers and other personnel to give insider medical information to his co-conspirators.

The indictment says Mr. Jones was a former teammate and coach of the Player 3, who was described as a “prominent N.B.A. player.”

Mr. Jones played with Mr. James on the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005 to 2008, during which time the two became close friends. Mr. Jones was an assistant coach for the Cavaliers from 2016 to 2018, during Mr. James’s second stint with the team, and was his personal shooting coach. Mr. James joined the Lakers before the 2018-19 season.

A spokesman for Mr. James declined to comment.

The indictment says on the morning of Feb. 9, 2023, Mr. Jones sent a text message to a co-conspirator informing him that Player 3 would not play for the Lakers against the Milwaukee Bucks that night.

“Get a big bet on Milwaukee tonight before the information is out!” Mr. Jones said in the message, according to the indictment.

The indictment notes that Player 3 did not play that night because of a lower-body injury. Official records show that Mr. James did not play against Milwaukee because of a sore left ankle. The game came two days after Mr. James set the N.B.A.’s regular-season career scoring record.

How many times are you going to tell us it's not the 70s? I'm only on the 3rd page and you have me feeling like super troopers "I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next person who says it's not the 70s".

FWIW, in this version JerryTheKingBawler would be Farva.

Is LeBron’s Sciatica the same as MJ trying out baseball?

Was LeBron slightly involved and therefore serving an off the books 15 game suspension

seemed like lebron, after never playing golf his entire life, played golf with very poor form every day this summer. according to chatgpt, "it definitely can contribute to or even trigger sciatica, especially if you’re starting from scratch at age 40 and suddenly playing golf daily"

That might be more relatable to your everyday Joe and not a professional athlete.

The NYT is clearly a racist news outlet. Why would they link a future HOFer to a gambling scandal.

I think in the NFL, unless it's like a QB, you'd probably have to have multiple players on the same team in on it for it to really work.

I read something once that said if you were trying to fix a football game, the key guy to have would be the center, because he initiates the action on every single play, without exception.

Just because they aren’t gunning each other down in front of steakhouses doesn’t mean they aren’t active. I can only assume what they are up to these days, but with technology being the way it is, it’s easier than ever to commit major crimes without being in public view.

So what becomes of Rozier's cap hit for this season (over $26 million)?
