I won't be surprised if Medvedev ends up retiring in the semifinal especially if Djokovic races out to an early big lead. The guy will have played 15 matches over the past 19 days. You have to think that the physical toll will start to affect him at some point. Djokovic will run Medvedev ragged and grind him to dust.

Good win for Keys. Time for her to win a major. I thought Kenin was about to break her down at one point. Can't believe Kuznetsova is still out here doing her thing.

Medvedev looked like he was done, just started going big on serve and all of a sudden wins the set.

I think Kyrgios started going huge on 2nd serve vs. the top guys and he’s had success. Maybe that will catch on. There isn’t much to lose.

Looks like djokovic might opt for more rest before New York with his elbow issue.

That was crazy. I guess it could have been a bit of a soft tank from Novak, but props to Medvedev for rolling the dice and executing.

Funny Medvedev played reckless and got away with it hitting all those bomb second serves. Novak looks like he just wanted to go home and rest for New York

A friendly reminder that Medvedev was thrown out of a tournament 3 years ago in Savannah for saying the black ump and Donald Young were friends.

Here’s the 1989 run that BG mentioned on the air today where he said he crashed and burned in the 1st round at the Open.

I could see that happen. He said he is going to sleep for two or three days.
He mainly needs a good draw, just get a couple of freebies.

By the way, there was some interesting drama in the Keys match. They played a game using the balls the men are supposed to use until Keys pointed out the mistake. Apparently, the women play regular duty felt and the men use extra duty. BG said the men would be hitting at 6 or 7 mph more with the regular duty felt.

Benny P is the top seed in Winston Salem.

A wall with a dominant serve.
