Prime Federer lost to broken hip Guga in straight sets at the French Open. Guga >>> Federer on clay.
He was 22
Guga was 27
But yes prime Guga was better on clay, slightly. I would say Fed is around 5th best clay court player ever
1 Nadal
2. Bjorg
3. Villas
4. Lendl
5. Guga
6 fed/Djokovic
8 muster

He was 22 He was still a serve and volleyer at this point
It was 2004. He'd already won two majors at that point. I could definitely argue with a straight face that that was prime Federer And there's no question that it was, at the very least, early-prime Federer.
I might have held off on the emoji on that one.

If you call him prime fed, you don’t know tennis
I thought you did
06-12 is prime
With 06 being his best year

Bobby will do anything he can to put down Fed in order to prop up his beloved. It's a pathetic level of hero worship from a grown man, but Bobby has always come across as strange on here

He went 74-6 and won three majors that year. He absolutely was in his prime. And you do realize that 22 was typically a prime age for tennis players until recently, right? Most of the all-time greats like Sampras, McEnroe, Borg, Nadal, Connors were winning big at that age. As for Guga, he was going through the hip problems Andy Murray is going through now. The guy’s career was cut short due to debilitating hip problems. He was on his way out by 2004. He certainly wasn’t close to being in his prime.

I was being polite, it was absolutely prime Fed. You are fricking retarded, and should feel retarded.

Just noticed Alex Zverev is playing Marrakech. Curious to see how much effort he gives there.
Houston main draw starts tonight.

Harrison playing now. Hopefully one of the Americans steps up, seems like one of them usually does at Houston.
eta: Anyone going? I never got my plans in order to make it.

I wonder why?

Since he basically has to play Munich, I’m guessing he wanted to play 2 tourneys, take 1 off, then play 2 more.
As for why he’s playing Marrakech at all... no clue. He played about 2.5 matches total in IW and Miami, so maybe he just needs more court time.

I'm fairly confident that I could go back on this board and find you claiming that 2008 Fed was past his prime.
Either way, Roger Federer was absolutely in his prime during the middle of 2004. Absolutely.

Tennys drew Janko Tipsy. Kind of a tricky first round match.

So you are saying I said Fed was last his prime at 24????
I will play you right or left handed, with the other hand tied behind my back. Loser comes on here and posts fed/Rafa is the true GOAT

He was 26 in 2008.
And the claim has definitely been made on this board that Fed was past his prime when he lost to Rafa in 2008 Wimby.
