Dude mentions 4 cities & you ran off on a tangent for the one you lived in.
Well it's 3 cities that are barely called cities and 1 city which has a million people and is one of the biggest 15 cities in the entire country. Columbus offers way more career opportunities in the city than any of those places could possibly offer, which is a ton to sell to recruits (mainly their families since all recruits expect to be millionaires in the NFL).
It was an incredibly bad take, and it was called out as such. As I literally said in my post, I don't like Columbus very much myself, but it's nothing like the 3 college towns that were listed with it

News flash
They don’t!!!
Don’t matter though because they always get beat by the south anyway!

Are you really arguing that middle class job opportunities are what drives a college recruits decision making process?

Maybe in the Midwest, but definitely not down here

I literally said all the kids expect to be millionaires but their parents often realize stuff happens and it's better to have real job opportunities if the NFL doesn't work out, and OSU/Columbus offers way more

5 star recruits don’t give a shite about that

A million people. Maybe 5 pretty girls and the culture of a beta convention. Nobody gives a frick about Columbus OH.

Buckeye06,
Parents often have the same dreams of their kids being millionaires.
They aren’t influencing their kids to pick a team based on how likely they will get a midsize car dealership or insurance salesman job in the surrounding area.

Cool, what’s that got to do with anything?

If an Ohio State degree is worth a shite, then I doubt you’ll be stuck interviewing for a floor level gig at Nationwide.

Eugene is a horrible place to live and NW Oregon is a war zone

It's over 2 million for your information and also...then why is it one of THE fastest growing cities in all of America? Columbus metro is home to 16 Fortune 500 companies. The opportunity for money to be made in Columbus with NIL is going to be incredible. Moving forward, recruiting wont be about selling your program, its going to be selling your market/money to parents. I dont like it, but thats going to be the way of the future. Programs with access to corporate money and marketing are going to flurish. Ohio State being in Columbus is going to benefit them tremendously. Period.

You may have a point, but lots of free shite from Nike does talk. But, this could be a huge boon for UCLA and USC. You play in So Cal a media capital with serious money to throw around?

“Son, this is where you want to come play your college football. We’ve got tons of huge companies with HQs in the area, including Cardinal Health and L Brands.”

You could probably make a better argument for Maryland recruiting better since they have Under Armour but it's going to take a lot to save that program.

You don’t have to be on the Oregon team to get a Nike deal

Didn't even crack the Top 25, but Eugene is...

Zero cities in the dying Midwest

Pale flat bitches only though. Recruits won't care.

But wait until they convince every recruit that they will all have a Nike advertising contract/shoe deal if the go to Eugene, even if the kid has no shot of ever being a star and having any kind of name value. These kids will be so excited over the idea of being on a Nike poster that they will gleefully sign the dotted line.
How long can that last if they don’t all get deals?
Also you think Nike is gonna sponsor Alabama football players Or Elite Duke basketball players?
They’re gonna care far more about getting them to Nike Schools than getting them to Oregon.

I know when I was 18 and trying to decide where I wanted to go to college the number of company headquarters near campus was near the top of my list.
