re: Tech/ULM football series

I'm going to go ahead and declare this a victory for me and anyone who agrees with me that:
1) Louisiana Tech is downright afraid to continue the true rivalry with ULM
2) Louisiana Tech has an elitist attitude that has afforded them nothing but a Humanitarian and Independence Bowl.
3) Nobody outside Louisiana cares about Louisiana Tech.*
4) #3 will always be true.
5) Louisiana Tech and Louisiana-Monroe should play football every year.
This thread will continue for years; I will gloat about my victory.
* Other than alumni and Louisiana's emigrants.

You got pwned! (but like all ULM fans you're a legend in your own mind).

Nah, probably 19 or so. But Tech and friends are just too funny. I laughed at them while I was growing up. I'm happy to be reminded of just why in this thread.

If it does come to this - I think Tech gets cut before ULM. IMHO.
If that's the case, this state is dumber than I thought. Tech has no money problems, is improving in academic rankings, is a national university, creates high paying jobs in engineering, etc. has been under good management.
Meanwhile, ulm is a carbon copy of Nicholls/Mcneese/etc, and is sitting mountain of debt as a result of continued mismanagement. ULM has also been falling in academic rankings recently.

You're funny. We'll try to mix in a scrimmage between the Boise State and LSU games. How's that?

I don't want to post numbers that I can't find, but I know their enrollment has been declining at a good clip.
Tech's enrollment increased this year, we achieved Tier 3 status (ULL is Tier 4, Monroe is a "master's university"), and our freshman class ACT average is the highest its ever been. Our season ticket sales have reached all-time highs for 3 consecutive years.
We intend to continue our growth. I don't see Tech getting cut before ULM.

I'm bored.
1. The burden of proof is on you. Why would Tech play LSU and not ULM if fear were the only factor in the decision?
2. I think this is a true statement. We are not necessarily an elite university/program, but when compared to ULM we are.
3. This has already been debunked by numerous posters on this board from different states. You can also visit the WAC message board and see alot more interest from out of state.
4. See #3
5. I think this is a true statement. Although, they don't HAVE to play every year and Tech chooses not to because this is a free country (as of today).

Tech : ULM :: Ole Miss : Mississippi State

Tech will play Nicholls tho.
ULM will never get cut. Pharmacy school saves it. IMHO

It seems that is the norm for most school with scheduling. UF, LSU, UGA Ohio State all have or had 1AAs on their schedule. I think Dooley has stated his scheduling philosophy 1AA, two non-AQ and 1 AQ. This year with LSU and Auburn we have 2 AQ's but I think it is changing.
Posted on 8/27/09 at 1:10 pm to ajs008
fricking Dooley. What the hell is he doing? Bringing in another shitty arse SEC team to play in Ruston when he could schedule ULM?
When will he learn? I'm not sure why they just don't fire the idiot.

Your engineering program is not the best in the state and maybe not best in N. louisiana. At any rate, certainly not as well thought of as it once was. It is the best department of the Univ. On a a state and national the ULM pharmacy school is highly regarded.
