At least they have a chance

wayyyyyy more of a chance than FSU would have if the CFP was some rigid, set in stone criteria.

An old adage, “Not the best team, but the team that is playing best”. The committee’s job is to pick the best four teams TODAY. They got it right.

Nope. As far as football goes, FCS does it best.

Well we’re going to 12 teams next year… and I’ll bet whoever goes undefeated is in… pity it wasn’t this year

because the regular season shows who is elite and the 4 team, neutral site playoff settles who is the very best

Very VERY rarely are there 4 truly elite teams. As is evidenced by the average point differential of each semifinal game.

College baseball?

A bad team with a good pitcher can pull off 1 win but they won't survive a double elimination tournament.

College football does have the best playoff, but only at the FCS level

The NFL’s playoff system is vastly superior to CFB’s

Especially when teams with 0.500 records, or worse, get in.

Really, any time of single game playoff/tournament is a terrible, albeit exciting, way of determining the best team. Round robin is the absolute best.

World Cup and Stanley Cup both do better.

Who gives a shite? There is no rule in competitive sports that the best team should win. And it's actually what makes sports great. You can talk about it all day, but at the end of the day you get to settle it on the field.

I'm tired of this absurd narrative that CFB has been pushing. It's the only sport in the world that tries to claim this.

if they would change the scheduling so teams could actually use their aces in Omaha, I’d agree. College baseball is a pretty small sport though. Honestly didn’t even think about it
