I wonder what percentage of HBP are intentional.

There aren't that many superstars in MLB.

Pujols
Jeter
A Rod
Howard
Mauer
Ichiro
Hamilton

Maybe Halladay, Lincecum, Longoria and Chipper Jones. Strasburg, Heyward and Posey are probably on their way once they play more.

Those are all guys that have the name recognition to be considered a superstar. I doubt Tulo ever gets to be that popular unless he gets trade to a popular team or wins multiple MVP awards.

Just out of curiosity. i havent read pages 4, 5, or 6 but a name i have not seen mentioned is Adrian Gonzalez. Is he now gonna be a superstar because he's in Boston or has he been a superstar?

General question... Would Hamilton be a superstar without his backstory?

No. I wouldn't consider Pedroia, Lester or Youk superstars either.

But Jeter's a superstar because he IS the Yankees. Same deal with Ripken, back in the day.

yet he leads all MLB SS in HR and OPS and is 3rd in RBI.

Albert Pujols is hitting .230, is he not a superstar anymore?

TT has NEVER been a superstar. He was hot the end of last year and for the first 2 weeks of this year.

since the start of 2009 he leads all SS in HR, RBI, SLG

had he not been hurt in 2008, we could go all the way back to the start of the 2007 season and claim the same thing more than likely.

we wont even get into the fact he plays Gold Glove caliber defense.

seems like we have been over this already. You need to watch more baseball if you think he has only been hot for a few weeks.
