I could literally waste an entire day watching these. Watched SB’s 30-34 this morning, 08 Steelers-Cards on right now. What an absolute classic. I was pullin hard for the Cards this game.

Side note...

1995 Steelers have to be one of the lamest teams to ever make it. Neil O’Donnel at QB, Bam Morris at RB.

I think it started off just on the regular ESPN channel back in the day. Then after that it made its way over to ESPN2.

Now NFL Network.

But yeah when I was a youngster coming up I would wake up early so I could watch as many episodes of it as I could each Super bowl Sunday.

Recorded a few favorites.

Just watched Jets/Namath v Colts. I've seen it before, but it is honestly pretty shitty by modern standards. They rarely show a complete play. Dramatic voice over, music swelling, slow mo clips of of bits of plays. The newer ones are better.

Super Bowl 18 highlights are the goat. John Facenda's last narration for NFL films.

I love these. However, I wish NFL Network would replay old Super Bowls on weeknights during Super Bowl week rather than having a bunch of talk programming. That’s what they used to do.

That team had a nasty defense though. From what I remember, the Steelers actually outplayed Dallas in the Super Bowl, but O'Donnell threw 3 picks.

Greatest Facenda line was in the highlights of Super Bowl VIII describing Csonka and the Dolphins rushing attack trampling the Vikings as, "man on man blocking and man on man ball carrying."

That was the first Super Bowl I ever watched all the way through.

Kind of a weird season. There were no world beaters in the AFC, as the Bills' dominance (still a good team) was flailing. The #1 seed was a Steve Bono-led Chiefs team, with quite a few Pro Bowlers on defense. Back in 1995, being named to the pro bowl actually meant something, and the players took some pride in playing in the game.

The Steelers had a pretty good all-around team, even a very good offense, despite no-names at QB, RB and WR. Linebacking group led by Kevin Green and Greg Lloyd was nasty. That group of four was probably replaced the Dome Patrol as best LB core in the league. Oddly, though, Rod Woodson suffered a season-ending injury early in the season, but their secondary was still pretty good. Woodson matched up vs. Michael Irvin in the Super Bowl would have been good to watch.

49ers were the 2 seed, and were 1st in the NFL in scoring offense and 2nd in points allowed on defense, only to be upset by Green Bay in the Divisional round, throwing out what would have been the 4th straight NFC Championship game between SF and Dallas.

I mean they gave the NFC champion the third toughest game during that 1984-1996 run when the NFC won 13 consecutive Super Bowls. The Super Bowl the year before would have been much better if the Steelers had been in it instead of the overmatched Chargers.
