Certainly there’s more adult ways to react than what Jeudy did, but also Jeudy doesn’t owe Steve Smith an acceptance of his supposed apology, and for steve smith to immediately start saying the same things he initially said he was apologizing for since “he was wrong” proves that the gesture was ultimately meaningless/phony as hell

In the clip Steve smith is both trying to claim he’s the bigger man, while being the most childish person in the situation. The only reason the reaction has been positive for his side is because people liked him as a player. Rodney Harrison did the exact same thing (I also found it really shitty and lame) and everyone rightly crushed him all week on it

Steve smith started it and aired it out publicly, then wanted to make nice in private, then went back to airing it out publicly when he didn’t get his way. Can’t have it both ways and I think this speaks more to how widespread the well has been poisoned from the first take era.

This is like Jim Rome apologizing for calling Chris Everett “Chrissy” and then acting self righteous about it if he didn’t accept it and bury the hatchet. Your actions have consequences and you typically receive the same energy you give .

I think you put way too much thought into this

He punched far above his weight class but going around dropping n-bombs on players is probably not the right way of going around telling people to shape up.

well, that's not what he did.
maybe watch the video, or watch it again and pay attention.

Absolute bullshite and cowardly for Jeudy to call him that knowing Smith won’t “respond” bc of his TV position. If SS was not in that role, he would beat JJs arse. SS is one bad dude who can throw some hands

Call him what? The slang term that 95% of black males in this country use when acknowledging another black male? Smith called out to him and he told smith to frick off. Not an adult way to handle the situation, but also his right, given that smith has spent some time shite talking him.

You don’t have to hate Steve Smith just because he’s black

My bad, thread title is confusing or I’m just another in the long line of Bama dumb shits. I watched part of the video and it seemed like SS was going after Jeudy but when he got the cold shoulder SS got huffy since Jeudy didn’t grovel to another sub 5’10” human being not named Nick Saban.

He was a guy who was always open because he was surgical with his routes and was exactly where the QB expected him to be. Now he’s just a guy running sloppy routes with middle tier NFL speed and low effort.

Everybody in Broncos country knows he runs incredible routes, that’s how he gets open. The frustration around here has been his drops, complete and utter lack and blocking, he falls down at the first sight of contact, and he officially mails it in on tough catches.

Which is odd, because he blocked at Bama, made tough catches, and fought for yards. Maybe he’s just one of those guys who got his millions then mailed it in.

He’s still really talented, maybe on another team he can become what his talent showed he can be. But here in Denver it’s obvious he doesn’t give a shite anymore.

Kind of similar to Mac, if he goes to another team and still sucks I’ll admit he’s busted. But I tend to believe it’s the situations they’re in, not excusing them, but it has a lot to do with it.

This. Craftsmanship + toughness is a great start to being a good NFL WR. JJ is showing neither of those right now.

What the frick? No one drafts Jeudy ahead of Jefferson. Elway is an idiot and it’s not hindsight. No one that evaluates football should think Jeudy gets drafted ahead of Jefferson and Chubb gets drafted ahead of Allen. That’s me as a lifelong Broncos fan.

The nail in the coffin was telling Kyle Shanahan no. Elway thought he was smarter and above it all at that point as well. Rest is history.

I watched the video, and Smith came across even more immature than Jeudy. He's not wrong in his assessment of Jeudy and that Jeudy has not stepped up into a legit #1 WR yet. Obviously Smith was one of the best to ever do it, and you could even argue what he did was more impressive than those statistically ranked ahead of him due to his smaller stature and QBs he had throwing to him. But he's trying to make Jeudy look like an emo teenager by taking what Jeudy told him to his face and then immediately turning to the camera and putting it out there for the public & then saying into the same camera that only now he would tell teams not trade or sign him! First who is calling Smith? Obviously he knows the game better than most, but he's not a coach or scout in any capacity to my knowledge. Second, way to out yourself as being a very biased "scout" that would have otherwise told teams to trade/sign Jeudy had he not disrespected you.
I like that Smith is not very PC and you usually get true opinions from like his original assessment of Jeudy, but this was real petty of him

telling him he's average isn't shite talking its just the truth. Maybe jeudy should think on why that is

No one is calling Steve Smith for advice on whether to trade for a player or not. These dudes get on tv and act like their opinion is the end all be all.
