Agree with everything you're saying. I think SC and Sark will come up with a mutual agreement. I know that Sark really does love SC, so I hope he does the right thing and walks away.

Well that's some bullshite. Why should it be the employers responsibility to fix the guys problems?

No. Saints fricked that up today.

Word was that Sark could barely make it out of the operations center without staggering most nights.

I don't think that's entirely true. You can't just be an alcoholic or drug user and have immunity. If you ask for help, admit that you have problem, then they will allow to enter treatment at your expense.
If you show up to work drunk or high, they can absolutely fire you, even if you have a problem.

It's all conjecture.
USC might have it's own HR protocol.

I think where Pat messed up, was not forcing Sark into treatment when he had his "episode" earlier in the year. If there were ANY rumors about him before taking the USC job, then Haden should've sent him to get help then.
That was back on 8/24. If you put him in a 30-day program, then he would have been back for the ASU game, and USC would likely have had the same record as they did heading into that game, 2-1.
Then, if he had pulled what he pulled today, then USC could've kicked him to the curb with no issues.

Was his alcoholism documented while he was at Washington? If so, wtf was SoCal thinking hiring this guy?

Somewhere in Baton Rouge Coach O thinks about Pat Haden, does a quiet face palm, and resumes game week preparation.
