You have to have consent of all parties to record in California.

He may be a POS and a racist but I hope Sterling sues and wins and sends people a clear message they can't force him to do something he doesn't want to do with his property. The lack of respect for property rights is disgusting.

They can absolutely ban him. Forcing him to sell will be a different story. A very interesting story that will probably take years to sort out in court.

Can they actually take away his team?

This. How clueless the people that make up this nation are? It's sickening.

Does anyone think Sterling realizes he's old as shite anyway and just goes out quietly while counting his millions for the last few years of his life?

No it isn't. It's no different.

People just decided that disliking somebody for skin color is worse than disliking somebody for their weight.

Hopefully, someone else explained to you by now why you are wrong here. Just in case:

It's different bc, other than free agents, players don't have a choice whether to play for this team or not. It would be the definition of Hostile Work Environment to force anyone to play for a man who's racist views were made public.

There are so many bastards out there now plotting to catch an NBA owner drunk and speaking his mind so they can get it on tape and take over a franchise.

I understand the decision but now these owners have huge targets on their head.

The Clippers are not his property. Buying a professional sports franchise isn't like buying a car.

He does not have free reign to do what he wants with the organization and act however he wants. I know people deep down actually know this.

I do question the ethical integrity of any group headed by magic to purchase the team.

Few people have seen the NBA's constitution.

People who have claim there is a section which allows them to do that, but it's mainly intended to be used on deadbeats who can't pay their bills like George Shinn and the Maloof brothers.

The NBA can amend the constitution to do something like this or to extend the powers of that section, but Mark Cuban thinks it would be extremely bad precedent to do so and I'd agree with him.

now that the precedent has been set, I cannot wait for the endless line of NBA players being banned for life for making racially insensitive or charged remarks towards white players, which happens frequently. Also, I can't wait for the NBA to go back over video tapes of the last five seasons 2 banned for life any players making racially insensitive statements.
