He could play in Memphis but keep an off-season home in LA.

If I’m an NBA free agent right now, the 3 cities at the top of my list would be Dallas, Orlando, and Miami. Great weather and tax situations. Dallas has a budding superstar to play with, Orlando has a decent young core, and Miami is ripe for a new superstar.

I left Houston off because they’ve reached their ceiling with Hard L and San Antonio is basically North Mexico City.

Atlanta and Charlotte would be good destinations too. Great weather, good taxes, fun cities that are also safe, plus outside of the top 5 teams, the rest of the conference sucks so one good player can put you in the playoffs with either squad.

Bulk of that is fed taxes. Can’t really avoid that one.

I wonder if they calculated the state taxes as just Cali or went through and went deep in the numbers because pro athletes basically have to pay taxes based on wherever they earned that game check.

Either way 15 mil after taxes and deductions is pretty nice

I'd rather play in California over a Midwest or east coast team, despite the taxes

Why Oakland over the east coast? I would understand if we talking LA or San Diego.

They also excluded FICA.

I've actually never seen one of these graphics done properly.

I don’t think they take FICA as it’s a service contract.

I’m not sure about how they calculated the state.

Regardless; the amount he pays in state tax, outside of no state tax states; is pretty insignifanct. Curry ain’t any happier because they moved him to Minny, Jersey, NYC,DC, Wis because he saves 4% in state taxes

Mind boggling why these High Paid Athletes fall in line with the Democratic Party, since the want to tax the rich so much.
