Tied for 106th in a 156 person field. He's currently ahead of the guy that finished 2nd last week. I don't expect him to make the cut or anything like that, but it's hard for me to describe just how impressive this is.

He has a different job 9 months out of the year, and is still able to go out there and not look like he's entirely out of place.

That’s extremely impressive, but I’m wondering if he can sustain it. If he even does it on back to back days, I’ll throw the fluke card out of the window. I don’t even need 4 rounds.

ETA: that tour isn’t a joke btw for those that click cause of Curry and NBA. It’s a way for guys to get an actual PGA Tour card.

I was actually having a discussion yesterday about what golf would look like if these stud athletes played golf. How good could Curry be if he only played golf from age 6 to now? It’s impossible to form an opinion that sticks, but intriguing.

Also, lets not act like shooting over par is very good.

They would be good and push the game forward

Look pre tiger in the 90s

You had a bunch of slobs that looked like you local CPA.

Then tiger comes and blows their doors off, young athletes pick up the game, and push the game forward

You would see another push forward just like that if the elite athletes started playing golf from a young age

Dude went out and shot a 71 at a crazy difficult course. A Webb tour event isn't like playing from the 5,600 yard white tees at your local muni.

You couple that with the fact that he is an elite in his field and works 50-60 hours a week at his real job, and that's fricking amazing.

Ill pick the year 1995

Here are your top 10 golfers from this week in 1995

Google search was "Their Name 1995"

Tell me if you want to ask for their autograph or ask what new tax credits are out for the year

And I should have used the word "unispiring" or "boring" instead of slob.

But my CPA comment stands firm

Im picking Greg as a pro athlete, 8 others as my CPA, and one as my porn star

You're letting loose fitting clothes of the 90s fool you. A lot of those guys are in good shape. Greg Norman and Faldo for starters.

Most of those guys are in great shape

ETA:

Bernhard Langer is a fitness guru and part of the reason he's still really damn good.

That is a terrible list to show golfers being out of shape CPA's

Greg is in phenomenal shape

And yes most arent fat

Like I said slob was the wrong word

The right word was just vanilla and unispiring. Golfers were so boring then. So so boring

The Tiger effect brought in a fresh crowd that is far more invigorating

At least in this mans opinion

Speaking of Greg being in shape

I changed out of shape to boring

I did it right after my first post

I said slob is the wrong word

Are you not in agreement that golfers had gotten vanilla and were losing the interest of fans pre Tiger?
