Anyone saying Curry is a better all around player than MJ has some serious recency bias.

curry's career is not jordan's career (yet, but it's unlikely)

curry's season this year, offensively, is better than any jordan had (so far)

and if you want to say "well the game is different" as in he understands how to be better, how is that a negative towards curry?

if that's the standard, wilt > all

hes not only a shooter. He has the best handles in the league and can finish at the rim easily, and has ridiculous playmaking ability. One of the best passers in the L. This dude is actually a video game player.

Pretty much this at this point

You know good and well that argument is related to the defenses. They'll never change with that.

well the defense argument is hilarious when people bring up jordan's seasons from the mid-80s

if you want to bring that argument, then it has to be seasons post-bad boys (when defense started getting played again)

Maybe top 5

Only his shot is video gamesque.

This board is amazing. Some dude lights it up from the 3 point line (quite an amazing feat and much respect) and he's crowned the best player ever. Let's just forget his first few years and not give him the same critiques like wait a few more years, as we do all players before prematurely calling them GOAT.

Curry is the best offensive player in the NBA this year and he was last year. What he is doing on the offensive end is amazing, his shot is amazing but let's calm down, enjoy the ride, and wait this out before saying he's better than MJ.

I'm blown away by the amount of coverage that locker room "tirade" is getting this morning.

Wait, do you think he isn't the best player in the league right now?

From an objective standpoint? Sure but, I'm withholding judgment until the playoffs come to an end.

This shite is ridiculous man.

When they judged LBJ it was always: RINGS!!!!!! SUPERSTAR TEAMMATES!!!!

Now a dude who has 1 ring with two breakout historic performances has passed LBJ but not Kobe and MJ. Yet LBJ has many historic performances, maybe not like what we are seeing now, but historic nonetheless. I think it's the flashiness....

Curry is doing things we've never seen before, no doubt.

People need to ask themselves this though: If you take away his shooting, what is Steph Curry?

Now ask the same question of Jordan or Lebron and the answer is they are STILL two of the greatest players of all time.

That's the difference, Curry is the best offensive player right now no doubt but it's because he is doing one thing better than anyone else ever has which causes us to be victims of the moment.

still an elite ball handling point guard who is probably the best playmaker in the league, at least on the same level as lebron, who plays above average defense for a point guard

So at best, without his all time great shot Curry is effectively Tony Parker (and I'm being generous IMO granting your description without dispute). A great player, maybe a HOFer but nobody anyone thinks twice about in the best player ever discussion.

Lebron and Jordan could have never made a shot outside of 15 feet and still been two of the five best players ever because they were all time great finishers, defenders and two of the best athletes in sports history. Hell Lebron couldn't shoot for dick the first half of his career.
