The average pro athlete going broke. People still talk a lot about it, but it doesn't seem like it describes reality anymore.
Yeah, it's still a 'thing' to reference pros going broke once they retire - cause it's still true in a lot of cases:
LINK
A stunning 78% of professional athletes go broke after just three years of retirement, Craig Brown, an NKSFB Sports Business Division partner, told FOX Business' "Mornings with Maria" in 2022.
Barkley references this statistic on the Club Shay Shay podcast, emphasizing the importance of having money left over as you age.
“I don’t mind a little ice, but too much ice,” Barkley said, calling out younger athletes splurging on Dior shoes and Louis Vuitton shirts. “They do know that money ain’t gonna last forever, right?"

It amazes me how many people make comments on something they know nothing about but act like they are experts. The guy who said it was cocaine/fent needs to be Pete Rosed on aTD for stupidity. Like you said it's the new party drug the people with alot of money are doing. It's cocaine/special K/molly (mama. People if you don't know what your talking about please don't just make up random Dom BS. You will never see me post on tennis or ice hockey because I don't know anything about them and I'm not gonna pretend like I do. It's OK not to know everything!

People who love to bring up athletes going broke after retirement do so to cope with the fact they never made it to even get to go broke
Posted on 5/31/25 at 2:53 am to jorconalx
the dea will list any possible thing that people cut a drug with. People like diggs probably dont have a high enough opiate tolerance to be doing drugs with random amounts of fentanyl in them. people like these rich guys are getting the most pure of the pure and they damn sure aren't getting fentanyl, if they did you would know because they'd overdose . they dont have tolerance to handle it. people that do fentanyl knowingly are lifelong opiate addicts

So, can only a wealthy person make fun of and point out the stupidity of someone who burns through generational wealth?
Are they coping too?
How wealthy do I need to be to make fun of Antonio Brown?
