The Pittsburgh Steelers are asking about a possible trade for former first-overall pick Trevor Lawrence. According to Ryan Burr of the Big Ten Network, the team has inquired about a trade for the QB, and the source comes straight from the Jaguars.
Lawrence, 25, was the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Looked at as the next great quarterback, the Clemson product came into the NFL with plenty of hype. Unfortunately, due to a few coaching changes and a slight lack in production, there are still question marks about how high his potential is.

Why would the Jags give up their franchise QB?..

Why on earth would the jags even listen to this?

Honestly seems like a great fit. The Steelers thrive with a mid to slightly above mid qb, and that’s exactly what Lawrence is. He’ll never be able to carry a team, but if he can eliminate some of the big mistakes with an organization like Pittsburgh, it could be good for both parties

If Im the Jags and they offer some 1sts I do it

Maybe the Jags feel they want to get out of their contract with Trevor as he has not lived up to it at this point. Also, I'm sure the Steelers are offering something pretty good if the Jags are listening.

How many picks is Trevor Lawrence worth? 2 1sts?
Now ask yourself how much 60-80mil in cap space worth because that's the largest elephant in the room when the money accelerates

I'd be okay with this.
The Steelers are never going to be bad enough to be in the range to draft a possible franchise QB, and this years class isn't great to begin with.
The Steelers should at least be applauded for trying something.

While they still don’t have a GM… good strategy

Another thing to keep note of is that the Jags have a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft, so they could trade Trevor, gets additional first round picks, and use that 5th overall pick to reload at QB

It’s a bad year to do that.

Because they are the Jags… and Lawrence has been basically ineffective.

It would be right on brand for the Jags to love a qb in this draft

Seems like the Jags might want to hire a GM first.

Dart/Ewers/Howard will likely be there at #5. #5 is too high for those guys but if you need a QB and you got some other firsts out of the deal you can use on other positions…

The Steelers are such an even keel organization though.
What’s 3 first round picks get you from them?
youre more like drafting in the 20s than you are the teens.
They haven’t had a pick higher than 15 since Roethlisberger without having to trade up for it.
