Heyward was asking fowler if it was really a strike. Bum misunderstood. Non-story.

We used to play a team in our district in high school that had a first base coach who would literally lean out into fair territory trying to see the catcher's signs. Bush league.
Yea, you gotta be in the box

Scooter's older brother. They were all Narcs. Literally.
I'm a couple years younger than y'all. I was ALWAYS CF and they tried to put me at 2nd and 3rd. All of a sudden I sucked.
It was me, PJ, Moncrief, Kelly, Bandy, Roberson, Tarver, Barton, and some other guys. It's been a long day, I'm drawing a blank on a few others.

During the recent local clerk of court election cycle, minions of my guy's opponent stole signs I had displayed at the end of my road. My guy won though. Ever so often, I laugh maniacally at the thwarting of their dastardly schemes. Not so well received when I do it during the middle of church though.

If the coach is going to sit on a bucket and flash a simple 1 or 2...... I'm going to let the kid know. If he's mixing it up using an indicator, I'm not saying anything.

In High School we had 3 for 4 POs who weren't playing literally devoted to trying to crack the other teams signs. Most teams use indicators, # of touches, first touch or something of that nature....only way to be safe is use wristbands

Never had an umpire put me in the box.

However, if you start trying to sneak looks in and find other "outside your normal" ways then that is bush.
Why? Id turn around and stare at the catcher. How in the duck is looking around a bad thing?
You don't think that catcher looks for signs that a steal is on?
Baseball is full of pussies. It's laughable when the dugouts clear. Seriously, what isbthat? No one fights but they all run on the field and point.

Nolan Ryan would beat you half to death today.

Yep, 20 yrs ago they were men, not pussies.
If you go out there to fight, well then fight! I especially love the outfield bullpen idiots running all the way and just standing there.
Geeez

Bobby Thomson's Shot Heard Round the World. Were the Giants stealing signs during that game?

That's a WSJ article that links a comprehensive report which chronicles the Giants catching the Dodgers late in the season with help from a telescope 400 feet away from home plate and an electric buzzer.
quote:
Prager also interviewed all 21 surviving players and the one living coach, and found that “many are at last willing to confirm that they executed an elaborate scheme relying on an electrician and a spyglass.” Read his full report. (Prager’s WSJ story was later expanded into a book.)

We just use numbers and arm bands for pitches. Signals for defense.
