Considering how much better the offensive weapons Manning had were than what Cam has had and the fact that Cam has had a better record than Manning did, that's a safe assumption.

I will give you LAST YEAR.. Cam was the MVP and well deserving... But GTFO with the rest of your homer TROLLING CRAP...

Manning 2, Cam 0. Only fact that is relevant

So that means McCarron was a better college QB than Peyton?

Cool, then Starr > Peyton in that case.

Is it bringing facts and stats that can't be argued with to the board that makes me sound like a bitch, or is it bringing facts and statistics that support players and teams that aren't popular on this board?

Would I come across better to you, Jones, if I trolled the MSB like everybody else? Would you like my next thread better if I talk about how all Cam Newton has done his entire career, in college and the NFL, is drag his BBC all over the state of Louisiana?

I've already explained multiple times why your Stat comparisons are flawed. It isn't my fault you forgot about the rule changes in 05.

Obviously, Cam will not come close to having close to the career that Peyton has. But this does show that all the peoplw who refuse to acknowledge Cam as a legit Qb and say he sucks are all a bunch of idiots.

Manning is the best passing QB of all time. I don't think anybody would try to argue Cam ends up with passing numbers terribly close to Peyton.

So when you say "not close to even being close" elaborate on what you mean.

Assuming nothing out of the ordinary like a serious injury details his career, do you think he ends up with a HOF career? Do you think he can make it back to the super bowl and maybe win? Or do you think he just falls off ends up average?

I mean admit it, you brought this up to troll....

Cam has been impressive but to say he will have the longevity or continue at the pace he set forth last year is foolishness.
Drew Brees after 5 years was nowhere near Manning or Cam and look at him now, he is a top 3 QB in the NFL and his stats show he will go down as one of the best to ever play.

However, when I look at this I can look at the rules that have changed since Manning was a rookie to Cam as a rookie and it is a more QB friendly league and he has benefitted from that.

All I took from that is that Cam has a much better defense than Manning had.

Maybe if you only paid attention for the last couple of years.

How can this possibly be construed as a troll of any sort? Because it's half about Cam Newton? The OP is 99% pure stats. The only opinion I put is that Cam has had a terrible OL in Carolina, and I think most people would agree. It's literally just a comparison. One that an objective sports fan would consider entertaining IMO.

I realize that Cam evokes an irrational hatred among many on this board at the mere mention of his name, but that doesn't make this a troll. It's not my problem if adults can't handle an objective thread with absolutely nothing inflammatory about another grown man without having an emotional reaction.

When you say longevity do you mean that of Peyton? Why is that foolish? Obviously his ability to run will fade with time, but he's still a very good passer. He's improved a great deal passing since he came into the league, and last year was an elite passer. I don't think it's a stretch to think he can have a long career as a good passing QB. Not many guys last as long as Peyton, hell Peyton himself could barely play last year. And Cam has never had any serious injuries. His only health problems have been getting beat up because of a poor OL.

when did he become an "elite" passer? he was 28th in completion percentage and middle of the pack QB rating.

he is an elite runner at the QB position. also, you make comments about OL, Manning did not have an elite OL his first years either. Didn't have a defense either but he did have more help at WR/RB.

Bingo, he would never had made it in the days that you actually had to throw your receiver open, as opposed to throwing to an open receiver.

And the sacks were very much on Cam too, he holds the ball WAY to long, ala RGIII

Maybe his OL wasn't "elite", I was 7 Manning's rookie year so I don't remember. It was almost certainly better than anything Cam has had because you don't have the NFL's leading rusher two straight seasons without an OL that isn't at least good. Other than this year and his rookie year Cam's OL has been arguably the single worst in the entire league. And even this year and and his rookie year it was still below average.

As far as winning games though, you're right Cam has had a huge advantage with having one of the best defenses in the league the last couple years.

Or that Cam doesn't have great pocket awareness.

The win/loss means jackshite due to Cam having a pretty good - great defense throughout much of his career. Manning pretty much carried his team.
