I don’t mind the 8:40 starts as long as the games don’t go deep into OT. However, if going in person I definitely wouldn’t like them. That would be hell driving back home in the wee hours of the morning.

I see Game 1 is a 8:30 start. Why not have an Eastern Conference game at 6:00 on NBCSN and the Western Conference game at 7:00 or 7:30 on CNBC? Can we safely assume no games are hidden on Golf Channel this year?

I hear that. I will be going to game 2. I have to drive 2 hours to Dallas to catch a flight to St Louis early Friday morning and if game 1 goes deep into OT, then I will he hurting.

This sucks. Both of the teams I wanted to win last night lost. What the hell Vegas? You had a 3-0 lead in the 3rd period.

We used to not get home until 12:30 or 1:00 in the morning getting home from Blues games. Then wake up at 6:00 for school. And those were with 7:10 start times.

Listen to all this I had to endure a bunch of late nights when the Wings were in the west.

I’m specifically talking about driving home after the game. Watching on TV isn’t that bad unless work starts early the next day. Needless to say I always fricking hated Eastern Time Zone. I’m so glad I don’t live in it.

Remember the Flyers/Penguins game that went 5 OT? I stayed up until the early hours of the morning until it ended. Ah, someone needs to let Steve Levy on games again.

Not much that I can add to what everyone else has said. The call was horrid but the officials had nothing to do with giving up 4 goals in 4 minutes...nor did they have anything to do with VGK failing to close out SJ in Game 5 and especially Game 6.

I just saw the call and wow. I disagree with a major there, but all the points in the quote are correct. No excuse for not closing them out in Game 6 and even on a five minute major giving up 4 goals is inexcusable.

Don't like Avs playing a hot SJ team unless Pavelski misses some time.

I’m not the biggest hockey fan, but I was looking forward to a couple of game 7s last night. Disappointed neither game was close down the stretch, so I went to bed before the end of SJ-LV.

I’m just now seeing the final score. It was 3-0 with about 10 minutes left when I turned it off. I’m guessing I missed the beginning of craziness by a couple of minutes, if not seconds.

Lesson learned. These playoffs have been crazy.

And all of Twitter this morning was going "OMG Damian Lillard hit a crazy shot!"...and I'm going GTFO with that boring arse NBA one cool play shite. NHL is unmatched (and yes, I'm including NFL in that as well).

I'd have more sympathy for the Knights people on Twitter whining about the call if they hadn't given up 4 PP goals. That's almost impossible. Heck, scoring 2 on a major is not super easy.

There's no excuse for it but it didn't help that Eakin's ejection, along with Pierre Edouard Bellemare already being out, left VGK without 2 of their best penalty killers. Eakin didn't deserve an ejection. Pavelski's fall and injury was more due to his contact with Paul Stastny and his awkward fall afterward.

The irony is that just like what happened to the Saints, it'll likely result in the league making changes to replay usage in the off season.

ETA: I haven't seen any Pavelski updates yet. As much as I hated to see what happened to VGK, I hope that he's ok. That was a scary fall and hit on the ice.

So a lie ended the lie this year?

Seems poetic justice but now for honesty, there is no way that San Jose wins that if they play that game 99 more times.

The Miracle On Ice game goes to the Russians 99/100 times...but only one time mattered.

Regarding that troll attempt...

ETA: Reports are that Pavelski may be able to return during that Avs series. I'm glad that he avoided any traumatic injury.

I am not sure you really know what a troll attempt is though, as that was not one. I mean seriously, if you cant figure out the routine by now.

Back to important things, Jones tried to Jones it up but Kane did not go pure idiot, which surprised me. I just read Marchassault's comments. He seemed to be quite irritated. I get it, but they have to look in the mirror as well.

Just like the Saints, that you pointed out, they had OT to win it and failed though. I would have never believed that the Sharks of all teams would find a way to win a game 7 OT game.

I'm afraid to say anything about last night for fear of a jinx. But the Sharks got a gift of a call (though it was a minor), but come on... four goals on a power play? At some point, it's on you to make a stop.

MAF chose a bad time to turn back into a pumpkin.

Also, Gallant really needed to call a TO after maybe the first goal, definitely the second. He got a de facto one but he still didn't seem to "rally the troops" for lack of a better phrase.
