Just turned the game on. How did LA tie it?
Posted on 4/22/16 at 11:51 pm to WestCoastAg
Former Blackhawk great Kris Versteeg tied it late in the second

That could be the dagger
I love being back on the West coast again so I can catch all the games

Looks like this is it

That's 6 I think this series and he's scored in all games they've won

Not looking too good for the Kings. Didn't the Sharks get the playoff choke memo?

If the Caps, Blues and Sharks all make a deep run I may actually believe the world is about to end

Don't count out the Preds yet. They are up 3-2 over the Ducks.

Aren't they tied at 2? But regardless ya Nashville is playing good hockey at the right time

Preds are done they had to win one in Nashville. Anaheim has decided to play defense first and let Perry score and the Preds can't handle that as Getzlaf doesn't look to score.

And this is why stats are so meaningless overall.
Analytics had the Kings winning the Cup. Gone first round in 5.
Also had them getting to the Cup Finals by 14% more than the 2nd closest team in West (Ducks).

Because of that home ice advantage Anaheim showed in games 1 and 2?

No because they played well last 2 games and Nashville had a chance to bury them twice and did not do it.

Actually, the analytics community is picking the Pens.
And what a bad job the fancystats corwd has done, backing those losers like the Kings and Hawks who have won (checks google), 5 of the last 6 Cups. Totally offbase.
Also, there's been a lot of research that the Kings are likely "gaming" the stats, producing an artificially high Corsi. Also, the Sharks are sort of beloved by the stats community as well, so this was a tough matchup for the Kings.
Possession teams rule the NHL. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable because you failed math.

Don't forget PDO as well. The pens are a fricking buzzsaw right now, they don't need stats, this series makes me realize how much I hated the hagelin trade

How big would the melt of the Toronto media be if Kessel won a cup with PIT? I remember them thinking the Leafs won that trade because of Kess' lack of work ethic etc.
