I love how Cardinals fans act like they're on the success level of the Yankees/Patriots/Cowboys/Lakers where everyone everywhere hates them

Yeah it could be a little while I'm thinking we're one or two years Out From Another World Series appearance

This board/thread is a pretty good example of how hated the Cardinals are.

Has a lot more to do with how *some* of their dipshit fans act on here combined with a lot of Cubs and Astros fans. There are some great and knowledgeable Cardinals fans on here too. If this board was the judge of hate the Rockets are the most hated franchise in the NBA by a very wide margin

I hear that. The BFIB thing gets a lot of people going though. I would imagine the Cardinals are probably #3 in most hated franchises across the country behind NY/Boston.

You think the Dodgers or Giants are more hated?
I could see the Dodgers because the majority of their fans are illegals or smug hollywood types.
Giants aren't hated.

I don't think anyone cares enough after the Yankees to even have a second or third

The Astros need to be thanking their lucky stars that the Cardinals let Luhnow get away.
As for the hacking scandal, it was a single frickwit who did it to show that Luhnow took proprietary information with him to the Astros. And he found evidence of it that no one cared about.
And I can't see how Luhnow didn't take Cardinals owned IP, unless his sabremetrics formula was somehow negotiated out of his employment contract with the Cardinals or he had invented it prior to joining the club because nearly every employment contract I've ever seen has a clause in it that says anything invented by the employee while working for the employer belongs to the employer.

Well, it wasn't cheating. It was hacking. Cheating implies some motive: namely, to outcompete or get better than your competition. The hacking was to find a smoking gun that some moron in the Cardinals' office thought existed. It was done by that guy to prove that the Astros were benefitting off IP owned by the Cardinals. That's not cheating. That's not gaining an advantage over competition. That's a poor excuse for a whistle-blower.

Uh, hate to tell you but the 2 teams that you know just met in the World Series are both primed to keep it rolling for a loooooong time.

St. Louis is really a football town. They just need the right team.
Contract the Cardinals.
Contract the Cardinals.

I agree, they are.
But remember, we said the EXACT same thing last year about the Indians and cubs. mainly cubs.

Weren’t you the one saying this whole thing was no big deal when the story first broke because it was just some intern shacked up at a Motel 6 at Spring Training doing the hacking?

I dont recall saying whether it was a big deal or not, was only saying that it wasnt intended to gain a competitive advantage.

The Cubs finished in the NLCS. Sure they weren't as good this year, but they made it back to the NLCS. They however look like they may be a few pitchers away from getting back.
The Indians had a good year as well.

The MLB “model franchise” is whoever won the last World Series. Right now it’s the Astros. Before that it was the Cubs. Before that it was the Royals, etc., etc., etc.
