St Charles only had 2 time outs left. Once Shaw recovered the onside kick with 35 seconds left, almost impossible for them to lose. #50 keeps his helmet on, the game is over. Punter doesn't kick it straight left, ball game. That's one Shaw won't ever get over losing.

Shaw grad here to take some lumps.

Saw the score and was proud of the effort given the regular season result between the two teams....

Then read what happened....

And kneeling it each time in shotgun. Lost 6 yards every time. Then yanked a punt. Gave them free yardage

Even with the crappy punt they would have been ok had they been kneeling from under center. They have up 18 yards kneeling it out. SCC wouldn't have sniffed field goal range.

If you’re taking snap in shotgun at least take some time before kneeling. Could have run it out even with the dumb penalty.

No way they're running 20+ seconds off the clock by just running around behind the line.

That QB could have ran out the clock easily in that shotgun formation with three plays.
You just tell everyone on offense to hold / tackle the person lined up next to them. QB can just run away from the extra defender

Sucks for the center but in fairness no one should lose a state championship from a missed XP. That's more justice

Can’t believe I missed the ending. I turned it off when Shaw recovered the onside kick. What an unbelievable ending. Shaw coach has to be beside himself. Go Comets!!

Looks like no solid coloured endzones for the Saints for the 6th straight time.

You know that kicker had the entire weight of that school off his shoulders after that kick. Went from being another body under the dome to going to prom with a cheerleader.

Also, whoever was holding for the kick deserves recognition as well because that was a high snap he got down perfectly.

How about fight the coaching staff. That was the worst coaching at the end of a game I’ve ever seen, in any level of football. What a complete letdown by the coaching staff. All the blame falls on them.

Watching clips and Shaw HC clearly had no clue SCC saved a timeout from the flag.

He was smiling and walking toward midfield after the 3rd kneel down.

Perfect lessons on 1. You never celebrate until the game is over and 2. You never give up. This should be showed to every high school team and coaching staffs.

Shaw, both players and coaches didn't stay focused and St Charles did. These are traits that are taught in great programs so the moment is never too big.

Poor job by the Shaw staff though. After the penalty they continued kneeling ball in shotgun losing 7 yards a pop even though they couldn’t run out the clock.

As great of a coach as Hank Tierney, he would do some stupid things at times. Very thankful for what he did for us during his time coaching Ponchatoula. Gave us our greatest run since the 1940's - 50's. He also might have cost us the chance to win the 2021 state championship against Zachary. We lost 28-20 and he passed up 3 short FG attempts ( when we had a decent High School kicker ) to go for it 3 times on 4th down and failed all 3. Who knows how the game plays out if they had kicked. Potentially could have won 29-28, but we will never know.

I thought you said the state championship loss to Zachary was West Monroe’s fault for not beating Zachary in a prior round of the playoffs? Now it is on the PHS coach?
Get some counseling man!

You either have me confused with someone else or you are retarded. I have never said such a thing. Until you just mentioned it I had forgotten that Zachary and West Monroe had played in the semi round.

Some counseling may be needed but it is you in need of it.
