MLB rules say you have to play at least 5 innings for it to count as a game played

that's for a TEAM game played, not an individual game played. Gehrig kept his steak alive by simple pinch hit at bats or one inning of defense. A simple appearance is enough for an individual game played. The 5-inning rule is only for the team (the game has to go five innings). Think about it, a reliever gets a game played for pitching to one batter, as does a pinch hitter for appearing in one at bat.

And to rehash ANOTHER old debate, I truly believe that ESPN did everything in its power to guarantee that Charles Woodson won the Heisman over Peyton Manning.

You mean like how ESPN did everything it's power to ensure Bama got its rematch last year?

I can see where you're going with this...

But lets face it...FIFA is more in the "world economy boost" business than they are in the Soccer business.

Yeah, there was a UM plane at the BR airport for a while also.

Not during the replacement ref period, the NFL actually had the booth officials making the calls.
So what happened in Seattle? Was it a conspiracy by the refs to force the NFL to its knees?

I don't discount they were obviously interested in Miles, they were probably making one last pitch to him for all we know, but we do know who got the job and how left town to get there.

The fact that the play was called a touchdown on the field.

1) booth officials aren't used to making the call, they only did it for those 4 games of the year.

2) The NFL in general are VERY cautious about overturning decisions made on the field.

3) While everyone KNOWS what happened, there wasn't great video evidence to 100% prove Tate didn't have any possession, at least not enough to overcome the inexperienced booth reviewers fears.

The only one that stands out to me is the Lakers/Kings WCF, in which Donaghy officiated. Sketchy stuff in those games...

Yeah...this one stick out to all the time. 27 FT's in the 4th quarters alone to ensure a game 7 in that series...Is everyone that blind.

Ive always said the Patriots 1st title was rigged due to state of the nation after 9/11. What better way symbolize America and patriotism than have a team named the Patrionts iwn in the biggest stage.

I recently read a good one about the NHL engineering Wayne Gretsky's trade to the Kings

Also, Roy Jones Jr in the 88 Olympics...I believe that was rigged

No, they're in the taking bribes business.

It's not even a theory anymore. FIFA is corrupt.

Meh. The Giants and the Yankees didn't win.

It was part that and part that his hot Hollywood actress wife didn't want to be in Edmonton.

Two games in '09 for Bama were really iffy to keep them perfect...but that's probably not conspiracy...just down home SEC cooking.

How did the refs help Alabama in the Auburn game? If anything, they helped Auburn more than Alabama.
