The argument is that he has 1 super bowl and some people put him in the conversation with the GOATs, thereby making him overrated.

He won a Super Bowl and is, I would argue, one of the scariest QB’s to have face you in the last 2 minutes. Maybe second to Peyton Manning

So then Marino doesn’t belong in the top QB’s?

Amazing how many don’t sympathize with a guy wanting to decide for himself where and for whom he works. It’s the American way

I hope he does call it quits. He’s a great QB, but I’m sick of his soap opera.

I feel like sports books do this to entice action for when they open it back up. Make the regular Joe feel like he’s got an inside edge and a sure winner

So he’s going to retire just so the Packers have to go with Love and then miss the playoffs so he can can get the last laugh, huh.

Just because he’s unlikeable doesn’t make him overrated.
It's not that he's unlikeable, it's just that the media has been pimping this guy out as the best overall athlete at the QB spot for the better part of a decade, and yet he hasn't made a trip back to the Super Bowl since the 2010 season. And it's not like he's been on trash teams in the intervening time. The 2011 Green Bay Packers were objectively better than the 2010 team that won the Super Bowl and yet they were bumped out of the playoffs in the Divisional round.
I realize football is a team sport and it takes more than one player to get the job done, but never has there been a more hyped QB, who does absolutely nothing in the playoffs, than Aaron Rodgers from 2011-Present.

He's ridiculously talented.
But never seemed to have that eye of the Tiger. Clutch gene.
He had 4 chances inside the 10 yard line to beat one of the greatest teams of all-time and he came up short.
But he set a record for 26 consecutive completions but was sacked and threw 3 incompletions to end the game.
That's what happened in his career.

Not the last two NFCCG.

I don't like him, but the media very much acted like he was the greatest and scariest QB ever. I just don't see it. He's very good though.

I was coming here to see if this was posted.
Do yall think GB thought he was bluffing and tried to call him on it? Because they could have traded him (unless he just don't have an interest in playing football at all) and got some assets that would help them in the future.

Newsflash: winning a super bowl is very hard. Brees only won one, Marino none, Jim Kelly none, etc.

He just won the NFL MVP for 2020 at age 37 years of age. Who is playing the QB position better than Aaron Rogers these days?
Green Bay management has pushed every wrong button you could push with a franchise player. Perhaps just too much hubris. Lightning struck twice with Farve and Rogers, really amazing. I don't believe they can make it 3 in a row.

Hot damn. Tom Brady did that at age 40 and remains the oldest player to ever win the award.
