Keeps the undefeated season going vs Tennessee. The part that's stunning is the insane lack of defense. There were 1.1 seconds left on the clock and Tennessee had a 2 point lead, so South Carolina had one option: a catch and shoot. You'd defend their players like glue and possibly ignore the inbounder and double up their best shooter.

Yet for whatever reason they left a player wide open at top center of the key who politely received a soft pass and chucked the ball up for a game winning 3.

UT's coach said she was worried about a pass into the paint toward the basket. It examples why their big girl was way off. I don't know why she put her hand up from 15 ft away though. Also don't know why their best player is just standing off by herself watching. Also if they were scared of the lob, why isn't the best player in the inbounder's face?

My favorite is the Center, who is standing in the middle of the lane with her hands up, 15 feet away from the shooter.

There’s a reason why that was her first 3pt attempt in her career lol. I still think you have a defender at least within 10 ft from her

That was only the 2nd 3 pointer that Cardoso attempted in her entire 4 year career and the 1st 3 she's ever made. If you're Tennessee, you let her take that shot 10 out of 10 times.

You're telling me they left a 50% career three point shooter open? She's shooting at a better clip than Steph Curry!

Let’s not forget Tennessee could have iced the game seconds earlier but missed both free throws.

Sure but you should have someone remotely close. At least bluff toward her as a distraction. She wouldn't get that open a look in warmups.

Fouling with 1.1 was terrible, game over if they just get out of the way and let SC heave up a shot

Are people not noticing she got lucky and banked that shite in after a terrible shot. From what people have said she attmepted one other 3 her entire career. Her being the one to shoot that shot is the best thing Tennessee could have hoped for.

Doesn't everyone do this against SC and their behemoths? Sag off, using the Iowa blueprint.

UT had 2 timeouts and didn’t think to burn one to make sure they were lined up to defend. They looked clueless before the ball was thrown in. Terrible!

i get if it was a shot attempt at any point other than the last shot of the game

you can’t allow someone to have an open look to end the game, piss poor decision
