If you aren’t one of the dakota, Montana, or Tarleton St programs, then you’re SOL.

The Third Leg
the regular season was to college football what the playoffs is to the NFL. that is now over.

Fixed.
FCS and the lower divisions have done fine.
The disparity at the FCS level is nowhere near what it is at the FBS level.

As usual, you’re missing the point.
These teams are already playing postseason games. Players opt out of them because they’re meaningless. Now they’re not. They’re playing to stay alive.
This expansion eliminates the crying about final seeds, gives the Big Ten and SEC huge pools of teams in it, and sets the stage for a 16 team tournament where 9-24 play into the field.
The regular season isn’t meaningless either. Top 8 get a bye to recover from injury prone long seasons

No one actually wants this except the people making all these dumbass decisions though

Conferences and conference title games are now absolutely meaningless, if that wasnt already obvious for the past decade

only One team was a real contender on that list and that’s Miami. Expand the playoff far enough and it won’t be a big deal just like losing the first round of the ncaa March madness tourney
Nobody thought Miami was a contender. Be real. They couldn’t even win the worst power league. It was a handout to the ACC so they weren’t left out.
It isn’t about them being contenders to win it all. The point is to quit playing meaningless exhibitions in Tampa, Nashville, and Houston, and have them play games that keep their slim hopes alive so players don’t sit out or transfer so much.
Few teams have a shot to win the NCAA tournament either. That’s why they hang banners just for advancing.

Hilarious you think these guys playing on these teams think they would have no shot against a team ranked 2-13 spots ahead of them. Shows me you’ve never actually competed for anything.

I think you missed what he’s trying to say. He is saying that, rather than opting out of the postseason bowl games, they will opt out of the final weeks of the season when their team is mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

How many guys sat out so they could preserve their health to transfer? Both schools had huge numbers of guys leave the program. How many skipped the games?
Posted on 10/15/26 at 4:16 pm to The Third Leg
Now you’re deflecting
We were talking about teams not having a shot
You are really all over the place and must be spun out of your mind, proof that Iowa I had nothing to offer but corn and meth

No one skipped the game. However, JMU’s entire roster transferred out of the program as soon as the game was over.

I’m sure that will happen en masse. South Carolina and Minnesota will be forfeiting games, it will be a bloodbath
