How long would a 347 team tournament take?? This is so ridiculous it would be funny though.

A week longer?

347/2 = 173.5

173.5/2 = 86.75

And they should just not do conference tournaments and do this. It would take less time overall.

But they want more time because that's more games which is more money. Would they seed this 1 to 347 or are the first couple rounds the bad against bad to get in the field?

I guess there will be only conference games. If so and no conference tourneys, why not. Would be hard to fill out that bracket.

It’ll save a number of coaches jobs. Now every team makes it to the post season. Not making the tourney isn’t the threshold anymore.

It’ll be fun watching Southwest Montana State upset Tennessee.

Surprise this came from the ACC. This will make winning the championship even harder.

They’re determined to destroy college sports and I say get it over with so we can start back up properly.

Apparently the ACC coaches want to play a 26 game ACC only schedule and the powers that be have told them it will make it very hard to get more than 7 or 8 teams in the field if they do that. That’s what Gary Parrish said today.

Parrish and Norlander said this has virtually zero chance of passing though. NCAA will not pay for it.

Just start after round 2 or 3. Whenever they get down to 60-70 teams.

But will CBS/Turner pay for it? Maybe ESPN steps in with ESPN+ to make an offer for the first "play-in week" to be held on the campus of the higher seeds?

Even if it's not every team but instead 256, you can add two rounds to be played on the campus of the highest seed like the Women's Tournament already does for its first two rounds. Then you're down to 64.

Just for this year though. I think it would make money.

There is no TV money to be made from a 17 seed Furman playing 71 seed Incarnate Word at a campus site.

Parrish said the TV partners are not even in favor of expansion to 96.

Why stop at D1? I say go full Frank Dux and add all the DII, DIII, and community college teams.

That opening round game between Duke and Judson college will be great.
