A friend's father-in-law was a regular tailgater for years and Tech (at least 20-30 years ago) did not allow alcohol at tailgates. Is this still the rule? They should be bending over backwards to make tailgates more fun to get more people there. They should also be selling beer at games if they aren't already. They need to have a fun, wild-assed atmosphere to give people a reason to show up.

You can have alcohol at the tailgates for as long as I can remember (last 20 years). They started selling beer at the games 2 years ago.

Please remember that Louisiana Tech is 6-16 since Cumbie took over

He needs another year or two to get his guys in to run the offense he wants.

Definitely can’t cut bait after two seasons.

Looks like he just rolled out of bed at the frat house in 2007.

He's got that Sigma Nu who went to Bishop England vibe.

Tech needs to balls to the wall all in on baseball. That would be my athletic play if I were them

They could easily be a consistent top 20 program there

He’s an Air Raid guy. Tech has been Air Raid forever. So it’s not about not being able to run his offense with certain types of players.

Wonder if he is fired if they take Joe Sloan away from LSU? I think it would be a great hire.

When a coach who is 6-22 starts getting offended and points the finger at others by doing something like this, all is lost. Let's face it. Louisiana Tech football is currently a shell of what it once was when it comes to production on the field. As much flack I give them at times, there is no excuse for these results that we have seen from this team in the past few years especially looking at some of the teams that they have recently lost to. They should be easily in the Top 3 in the new CUSA.

Wowwww. I can’t believe I missed this. BC is probably the biggest Tech promoter in the media in this area. He is a realist though and he’s not going to pretend all is well while the house is on fire. I have never heard him cross the line in all the hours I’ve listened. To do this is fricking insane.

I’m a much bigger LSU fan than Tech fan (I only have the logo to better see my posts). Sloan would be a no brainer of a home run hire, but seeing what he’s done with JD at LSU, I’d hate to lose him.

Joe Sloan is a no brainer if the job comes open. He has the local connections, is unbelievably talented, is married to a Tech grad and would want the job.

Sounds like there shouldn’t be much of a reason to wait. Fire this shithead immediately and start your search now. Haven’t you’ve seen enough.

Just saw this get pushed in a group chat I'm in with some guys I played with who are in the coaching profession (FBS/FCS analyasts/postion and HS HC/AHC).

X Link to Interview with Cumbie

Mixed opinions on if he is an idiot or over his skis and looking for a 7 figure buyout before he crashes.

Regular Chess: Realize you are in a small market and this story will go away. Just stay quiet and let it blow over

Baseball is going the same way as women’s basketball which Tech used to be good at…

LTU fans, I need more info. Seeing a callout on X that a staffer may have been trolling accounts?!

Spill the tea. I'm all for the coaching trainwrecks, especially when some Texan comes into the Boot thinking he is above reproach for losing 3/4 of his games in an age where you can flip a roster in a single offseason to fit your scheme.

what a dick move. Shows how clueless he is.

When Skip was there, he had open practices and got annoyed once when some info on formations and personnel groupings were reported. He didn’t like it, but it was handled behind the scenes the appropriate way.

Ben does a lot to promote LaTech, especially now that barely anyone covers the school anymore, so it’s hilarious Dumby is acting like this.

LA Tech coaches using burner accounts would be the cherry on top to this story.

We need KillTheGophers in this thread. He’s a casual Tech fan but I don’t think is an alumni who is super well connected. He could spill the details on this whole thing.

Whomever has the tea, it is apparent it is time to spill it. Coaches that would either coach the kids or possibly replace the guys who will be taken to slaughter after this year see what is going on. Unless ol Lubbock goes full blind squirrel the past two seasons may be his coaching highlights based off who he can get onboard both his staff to fill the holes he'll be asked to create, and the players who had to have seen that act as an absolute joke.
