OK sure...
apparently, the penalty ESPN announcer was referring to is that the bag is worth nothing as opposed to being 1 point if it stays on the board so thats why its considered a penalty for leaving the board losing that point
i never claimed to be an expert on the rules anywhere in this thread so why do you feel the need to be an arse about it?

What is the object of this game?
There are two sets of rules: the standard rules, and the College Station rules. I strongly recommend you use the standard rules.

If you read the first page you'll see you made the following comments:

anyone ever followed cornhole and learned the rules you would understand my references
next time maybe dont reply when you know nothing about the subject you are replying to

its been on TV for years, how can anyone have missed seeing it being played

ACL american cornhole league plays on ESPN all the time, try watching it and you will learn the rules
So yeah you kinda did

you get 1 in the hole they get 2 they get 1 point
you get 1 in the hole they get 1 no one gets a point
if you bag goes off the end of the board, or you miss the board completely, then you lose a point
Imagine being at a cookout or a party and some shitbag demands the game be played like this lmao

Our of all the sports this seems like the simplest to understand…
absolutely NOT a sport. Just a backyard game brought indoors and concocted some kind of "championship" out of it.

I thought they canceled this because of monkeypox concerns.

You might actually be 5 if you don’t get the concept

You never said the word expert but the way you presented the rules and the condescension your posts read with certainly seemed like you were portraying yourself as the expert.
And you were completely wrong. Just take the L.
Also, isn’t in the hole worth three and on the board worth 1?

This thread is a journey

No one has said anything about getting a point for landing it on the board in this entire thread.

Throw bean bag in hole

You get to throw 4 bags and your opponent gets 4 bags to throw, alternating shots. Each bag in the hole is worth 3 points. Each on the board is worth 1. Any not on the board or in the hole are worth 0. If I put 2 in the hole and 2 on the board, my total is 8. My opponent puts 1 in the hole, 2 on the board, and 1 off the board, his total is 5. 8 - 5 = 3. I get 3 for the round. First to 21 wins

it usually when the hole is blocked and they have to airmail a bag into the hole, thats the main time when they can bounce it off the board if they miss
yes you should really try to learn the rules.
In the hole 3 points
on the board 1 point
off the board 0 points, 0 deductions
players alternate tossing the bags. at the end of the round each players point total is added up. the difference is the amount points the round winning team gets.
games are to 21, you can go over (unlike that stupid bust rule).

Correct in this case, but I have always seen it where bags in the hole cancel out bags in the hole and same with bags on the board.
Player A: 2 bags in the hole, 1 on the board, 1 miss.
Player B: 1 bag in the hole, 3 on the board.
Player A scores 3 points for the 2nd bag in thevhole, player B scores 2 points for the 2nd and 3rd bags on the board.
Also sometimes you have to hit 21 exact and drop to 11 if you go over.
