But Paul Pierce is a gang banger and he can throw up cool gang signs...he's definitely not fake or soft

Whoever said Chris Bosh earlier in this thread misunderstood the OP. I don't think Bosh has ever been confused for a tough guy - as Shaq once opined - "Bosh is the Ru Paul of big men"

KG is 110% talk! His blocking of a shot after the whistle is his best game!

I mean he's getting old, but is still a solid player. Look at his stats from the early '00's through the '08 season. That is hardly all talk.

I get and understand the hate for him, he's obnoxious and kind of a douche, but I'd take him on my roster any day of the week.

The only PF I'm taking over him without thinking is Duncan it's a toss-up between KG in his prime and Malone/Barkley.

I understood him perfectly, but Bosh does try to talk shite on occasion, in which Durant called him a "fake tough guy", which is pretty much word for word the title of the thread. Maybe you didn't understand MY post...

quote:

"I was talking to my teammate and he decided he wanted to put his 2 cents into it. I'm a quiet guy, a laid-back guy, but I'm not going to let nobody talk trash to me. He's on a good team now, so he thinks he can talk a little bit," Durant said.
"There's a lot of fake tough guys in this league and he's one of them," Durant added.

It was more of a response to someone saying he was 110% all talk. I'm not going to argue with your list...they're all great players.

It was more of a response to the previous comment like I said. Therefore if you can name 5 better PF's, in your opinion, in the history of the NBA - then its safe to say he's not all talk.

I think I'd have rather jumped on Oakley than Anthony Mason..
I remember in the 90s always thinking that Charles Oakley, Anthony Mason, Dale Davis & Antonio Davis would just beat the shite out of everyone else in the NBA. Dale Davis was an intimidating man.

Kevin Garnett?

That was the first person I thought of when I read this.

So other than that example of Durant being butt-hurt, can you find the plethora of examples to back that up like you can with Garnett? He's always been known as a finesse player, doesn't exact flow with your assumption that he is very tough.

1. Obviously he isn't as big of a "fake tough guy" as Garnett, not many players are, and I didn't realize that was the minimal criteria.
2. I gave you an example of an NBA player saying it, and you want more?
3. Him being a finesse player, doesn't have anything to do with him trying to act like a tough guy. He's a shite talker and has never attempted to back it up, i.e. fake tough guy.
4. It wasn't my assumption, it was Durant's.

The Larry Johnson/Alonzo Mourning fight was two soft "tough guys" not landing a single punch...
