Now that the Mariners have broken the longest drought in North American sport, and the Phillies are in a good spot to clinch, baseballs teo longest droughts are, essentially, over. We have a new holder for longest drought in all of NA sport, the Sacramento Kings who last made the postseason in 2007. Here are the other notable droughts

Kings - 16 years
Jets and Sabres - 11 years
Angels and Tigers - 7 years
Royals, Pirates, and Broncos - 6 years

The NFL and NBA can bring about quick turnarounds but the Kings are probably still a little ways off. The Angels played better ball at the end of the year and I can see them break in next year with a healthy Trout and an expanded field

The Kings not making the playoffs in so long is kinda pathetic seeing as over 50% of NBA teams make the playoffs any given year. At least MLB has the lowest % of teams making the playoffs of the 4 major sports so the Mariners at least had that excuse.

had to amke sure it was the NY Jets and not winnipeg since I dont keep up with Hockey as much

From those teams Id personally pick the Broncos or Jets. Broncos have the roster they just need to get on the same page with the new talent/coaching thats there. Jets seem to be on a better trajectory but they are still the Jets so who knows. Maybe the Angels if they can get the holes in their roster around Ohtani and Trout figured out. Kings seem like an easy choice too with how expanded the playoffs are now. It doesnt take much to put yourself in a position to make it.

NY Giants. Easy schedule (might be the easiest) with a decent team. Last appearance 2016

While they have made the playoffs multiple times, the Minnesota Twins haven't won a postseason game since 2004

Marlins haven't won a playoff game since 2003.

Really, if we are being honest, they should be included in the original list because their only postseason trip in the last 20 years was during the abbreviated Covid season where they snuck in with only 31 wins and were promptly bounced.

of the teams on that list, Royals or Tigers make sense since that division is kind of meh. Cleveland, Minnesota, and Chicago are good teams, but I don't think any are so good that its insurmountable once KC or Detroit starts bringing up a lot of their talent.

cashed in titles, but haven’t been back since. Wonder how their fans feel if it was worth it or not

Angels
gunna be hard with Daddy Astros dick slapping them all over the place. I hope they don’t sell the team. They have arguably the 2 best players in baseball with Trout and Ohtani and they can’t win shiiiiiit

It is still painful to know my dolphins have only made the playoffs twice in the last 20 years and got boat raced both times. We are ready to win now!!

Detroit has brought up most of their talent and spent money in FA and are gonna win 65 or so games this year. They are in a pretty rough spot and there’s a reason they are cleaning house in that front office. I don’t see any of the listed MLB teams as particularly likely to make the playoffs in the next couple years though. Maybe the Angels next year if they can finally stay healthy and keep Ohtani, but this is said every year about them.

Considering 20 teams make the playoffs every year in the NBA the Kings are the answer here I think

I’m pretty sure they beat the Cubs in round 1
