If his last name was Smith, it's likely he's not even a starting qb. Has he ever been on a team that his dad wasn't the coach, where he has actually had to compete and earn the spot instead of just being installed at the position?

We have seen this before. Does he have talent yes. But is it above others ? No, so you look things other than talent. The guy and his daddy makes everything about him. The talent is at a level where a team has been willing to put up with the circus he creates around him. As someone pointed out in another thread. You are seeing players coming out and defending him or advocating for his talent and skill. That silence screams volumes

Honestly dude was 13-12 in 2 years at Colorado so definitely overhyped. On top of that he prolly looses half those games if it wasn't for hunter.

Could be. This wouldn't be the first thing they manufactured: U Conn basketball, the Big East, the concept of "power" conferences were all creations of ESPN. Those 3 were obviously successful.

No he wasn’t. Weak arm, kind of frail, accurate only on short throws, bad pocket awareness and only decent mobility. This was a hype machine that got picked apart by people who actually watch film.

What's been cracking me up during draft coverage is that the analysts will throw out that he was the most accurate QB in the FBS..................when not under pressure. That's not going to help much in the NFL when he will constantly be under pressure.

I highly doubt they think he’s arse. If his name were Shadeur Miller and he didn’t have a media and posse clown show, he’d probably be a late 1st round pick or early 2nd round pick this year. Only because this years QB class was the weakest I can remember.

He was overhyped because of his name and is dropping because no one wants to deal with the people around him or his entitled attitude.

Yes. And they're so enraged that it's not turning out like they want it, that they have become part of the story and have forfeited any credibility as a news organization. Not that they had much left.
