So this is just another impediment they put in their own way so that they get on their high horse and bitch about the SEC for something else?

I do agree with this, but OTOH, I hate teams patting themselves on the back for having a tough schedule because their traffic cones are tougher than another team's traffic cones. It's not how crappy your rent-a-wins are, it's how good the top teams on your schedule are.

LSU has had a top ten schedule for the past five seasons and yes, it has included the occasional FCS team. It has also included a steady diet of top 25 teams from other conferences, and the toughest SEC schedule possible.

It makes them feel better about not winning National Championships.

that's one way to keep them from losing to FCS teams.

only downside is that FCS schools can accuse the FBS of collusion to hold them down financially by not paying them to be whipping boys...

The Big Ten is damned if they do, and damned if they don't on this board.

Good move as a whole for the conference.

I like this. I hope the SEC follows suit. Of course, I also hope that Major League Baseball institutes the SEC pitch clock, that the NBA goes back to 3 game series for the playoffs with only 8 teams, and that the NFL will stop pansyfying football with ridiculous rules that don't increase safety just to stem off potential lawsuits, but I don't rule the sporting world and I won't get what I want.
