So how did the refs screw over the Saints this week?

Seems like that's the only way the Saints ever really lose so I'd love to hear from their fans to explain this loss.

They allowed the Saints defense on the field

You didn't watch the game. Two crucial 3rd down penalties to keep Niners drive alive. They deserved to lose the game even without the refereeing though.

I saw the Saints had the 49ers at 4th and 2 and allowed their tight end to drag his nuts all over the defense. all while grabbing his facemask giving San Francisco a chip shot field goal to win the game.

But I'm sure that wasn't what lost the game

The blow to the head penalty was really unfortunate luck. The SF player grabbing his head like his brain exploded to sell it was gross

I think what cost the Saints the game wasnt two penalties that kept drives alive.

I think it was allowing a 40 yard pass to the TE on 4th and 2 with less than a minute left in the game, that kept a drive alive is what cost the Saints the game

Wrong. Saints would be in V formation if not for those 2 horrid calls. Refs have an agenda against the saints this years and that's ok

The Saints are averaging 7.9 penalties per game, which ranks eighth-worst in the NFL. That’s turned into 68.3 penalty yards per game, nearly the equivalent of an offensive drive downfield after good starting field position. It’s kept a number of opposing drives alive, with New Orleans’ opponents gaining the second-most first downs by penalty per game (2.8) in the league. And as the chart above demonstrates, the teams playing the Saints are not being held to the same standard. Those opponents are averaging the fewest penalties per game (5.3) and penalty yards surrendered per game (40.6) in football, granting the Saints the second-fewest first downs by penalty per game (0.92) around the NFL
