Typical pay me more than what I am worth. If you're making someone millions you can get paid in the millions. If the business isn't making millions they surely can't pay you millions. Isn't this third grade math?

Yes. And not a single WNBA game would show up on ESPN if it wasn't forced into the NBA deal.

Last night I was trying to find something to watch before the NFL preseason game. My sports options were Womens Soccer on SECN, Little League World Series on ESPN or the WNBA playoffs on ESPN2.

I ended up opting to go outside and do yard work.

That is kinda the perfect point.

ESPN chose to air a kids little league tournament on their main network and put the WNBA playoffs on their secondary channel

And they want to keep comparing themselves to the NBA

No. 1 - Diggins is an idiot who is clearly living in a fantasy world

No. 2 - You can tell how many people in here don’t know anything about the NBA either. Barnes is not a bad player at all. He is definitely one of Dallas’ best players, if not the best at the moment. That doesn’t mean much since the team sucks complete arse, but I’d rather have him than Kevin Love, Iguodala and a number of other high profile guys who are/were considered key players on contending teams.

Which was like a year and a half ago.

You’d rather have a 35-year-old injured dude than a 26-year-old above-average player?

In terms of money, I’d agree with you. But in terms of just basketball skill/health, etc it’s Barnes and it isn’t even a discussion.

This is where we are at in this country thanks to the modern day Democratic Party and an organized, SJW culture that is forcibly fed to the public via entertainment and media.

"I deserve what he/she has just because!..."

The WNBA only exist because of NBA funding and SJW pressure to keep the league alive. Skylar Diggins should be thankful that she has the opportunity to make six figures for only three or four months of "work".

If WNBA players want more then they should do a better job at attracting fans and generating revenue to justify their pay. You can't just go rob someone else because they are successful. That's called being a thief. Then again, see paragraph one.

Technically they do get prime time games -- on one of the local DFW channels

But they barely fill 1/3 of a college arena. Actually I saw more people in there when my daughter graduated from a local cosmetology school.

Well to be fair to her Union if they got the same % of revenue as nba players she would probably make less

She goes after Harrison Barnes, who's a legitimate nba wing.

Complain about Jalen Brunson who may see 200 minutes a season will make 1mil...

I was flipping through the other night and they showed the highlights on sports center of the Washington Mystics

These broads don’t even play at the capital one area any more

They were playing their playoff game at George Washington University’s home court

I mean she's a good lil female BBall player and a nice piece of arse to watch, but are you really comparing the WNBA to the NBA, and thinking that you're somehow going to be paid like your male counterparts. LOL

If you read the original article and not the OP link, she does just that. WNBA salaries are drawn from 20% revenue instead of 50% like the NBA, and WNBA players get zilch from jersey and merch sales.

Starts off strong but runs out of steam fast, and she begins to blame ESPN for not covering their sport more (read: any) and lament that her daughter will never make as much money as her son (in basketball? nope). Also a really out-of-touch comment:

quote:

the big difference between our league and the NBA is we all have degrees and start hustling for [endorsement/investment] money faster

Yeah, she is definitely tripping on the last part of that comment. LOL She is 100% correcto on all of them having their degrees and the men no where near that, but guy ballers are natural born hustlers. LOL They start out of high school these days looking for shoe contracts and endorsements. LOL
