LSU won the national championship in 2023 with the best pitcher at any level at that time on their team

Best pitcher who didn't pitch at all in the championship series. Despite winning, I'm still bitter how the College World Series seems to often work out. In a best of three series for the national championship, teams should be allowed to get back to full strength for a true determination of the better team. Thankfully, it worked out for us!

Skenes would have gone 27-3 had he pitched for the '98 Bombers. 20-5 for most any other team today. Closest thing to Sandy Koufax in the last 50 years.
