Nawl. The problem is people not realizing they couldn't understand if we haven't competed in gymnastics.
Im not gonna pretend I know wtf the twisties feel like or how dangerous they can be. People that have competed have said they are dangerous, that's good enough for me to not hold it against someone.
It does hurt her legacy because she missed out on more potential gold medals to cement it.

She is the most decorated gymnast in the history of Gymnastics World championship history. I would say she has represented this country quite well already.

I can think of one big one, but I'm not gonna say it b/c I'm not opening that Pandora's Box.

Why do so many people dismiss the notion of mental health issues in this case?
B/c those same people are insecure about their own issues.

The umbrella of what constitutes “mental health issues” has long reached the point of absurdity.
She was the prohibitive favorite going into the Olympics. She had a poor performance…which happens to all great athletes at some point. Yet, rather than accepting she had a poor performance and continuing to compete, even though she was unlikely to win, she selfishly quit on her teammates and tried to play the role of “victim” to justify it.
Countless great athletes have failed in big moments. People can respect that. But no one respects a quitter. Or, at least no one used to before becoming a “victim” was seen as virtuous

I understand that dislike some have because she went around for 2 years prior to the Olympics with goats on her leotard and letting people call her the GOAT. She's an amazing athlete and legit the best female gymnast I've ever seen but she did let that team down, regardless of the reasons.

You obviously don't understand just how serious "Twisties" are.
They can be deadly.
They can be deadly.

Personally, my beef with the whole Biles quitting story was not so much her actual quitting and why, it was the loser arse media propping her up on a pedestal for her "bravery".

She is a bitch and a loser.

As officials, we all want the glory call at the end of the game. It's why we do it
It’s still funny the guy that posted he’s an official because he wants the glory call thinks his opinion on any topic is ever going to be taken seriously.

She wore goat logo bedazzled gear to proclaim herself the goat
No one else did that
She did that

You don't think that can cause mental health issues?
If the pressure of big time gymnastics causes her mental health issues then she's in the wrong line of work.

This right here.
Two things can be true at the same time. Simone Biles is without question the greatest gymnast in the history of the planet. However, she did quit on her team - initially blaming the pressure of the moment but then changing her story to mental health and the twisties after some backlash.
Posted on 8/6/23 at 7:51 pm to RollTide1987
She went on a media tour including Ellen to describe how she couldn't handle media.
And proclaimed herself the GOAT and then quit.
And these simps still simp for her.
Pathetic.

I think a shite ton of the animosity towards Simone is just folks showing anger towards how fricked our media is today. And the fact that normal people on the left just ignore it or even claim us on the right are nuts just makes it worse.
I’d imagine a lot of us are actually interested in the twisties. But the media and assholes on the left were so ready to call us pieces of shite for being confused about our best athlete dropping out of the olympics that we figured they were gaslighting us.

She’s won the US 7 Olympic medals and has 25 medals on the world stage(mostly gold).

If the pressure of big time gymnastics causes her mental health issues then she's in the wrong line of work.
But we just accept these as odd realities of the sports when athletes develop them. We don’t say “o you’re one of the greatest golfer of all time, but now have the yips, so you’re in the wrong line of work.”
Yet, those are not only all that different than the twisties, most of them are far less dangerous since they don’t happen when they’re twisting in the air.
So absolutely ridiculous to not only hold this double-standard, but it’s even worse because her’s present a far greater danger, and she is arguably the greatest in her sport of all time. So to say she’s not cut out for it, is just laughably dumb. So dumb, it’s more accurate to say you’re not cut out for formulating and communicating opinions on these things.
