From what I can tell, Utah State beat Nevada and the fans rushed the court so both teams had to go through the same tunnel. I guess there was some kind of fight and a Nevada player freaked out and punched the glass out of a fire extinguisher holder in the wall.

Here's a link to a video:

Heard the home fans were grabbing the players and supposedly cursing at them, etc.

I wish they would have let him go. I’m curious what he was planning on doing. Surely he wasn’t going to fight 2,000 people.

Tbf he wanted to fight the USU staff member that allegedly made an inappropriate comment to him & perhaps whomever else on the USU team he could get ahold of.....so more like 4-5 people

But yeah I would of liked to see him let go as well

Yeah but which of those 2,000 people would've been the one to step to him to fight? He comes out throwing haymakers it's gonna be way more running away like the place is on fire than coming for backup.

I watched that game. Given that Jordan Caroline (#24 in the video) was 3/15 from the floor, 0/5 from 3pt range and 1/3 at the line...it's nice to see that he managed to hit SOMETHING.

From the comments:

During the game, as Caroline was shooting free throws, some USU students chanted “baby daddy”. It may have contributed to some emotion.

I've been to Utah State home games. Probably the best mid major home court environment and most rowdy. Yes, better than Gonzaga(I've been to a Gonzaga game too).

Utah State fans started a lot of the chants you see done at other college arenas today.

Glad Utah State basketball is back, they looked dead to rights once Stew Morrill retired

One of my good high school friends played basketball there. Went to 3 straight tournaments from 2009-2011

Utah State is one of the great basketball venues in the US. Those fans are up there with Gonzaga and Duke

The quote from Musselman:

“As someone who’s had the honor to know and coach Jordan Caroline for four years, I can testify to his outstanding character, high moral standards and strong integrity. He’s kind, compassionate, and competitive.”

And the Mountain West stated that the court storming was not a factor in the issue and any disciplinary action will be up to the institutions. So there will be none.

quote:

Inappropriate conduct by individuals from both programs in the postgame handshake line and subsequently in the locker room areas created the unfortunate circumstances," the Mountain West said in its Monday statement. "The Conference office has had multiple communications with both athletics directors and has shared the findings of its review. Each institution will be responsible for the determination and administration of what it deems appropriate disciplinary action for those involved.

Apparently basketball fans in the state of Utah are awful human beings. These stories aren't uncommon about them. BYU, the Jazz, all of them. Their fans are shitty.

Yeah, I remember when those horrible BYU fans triggered Bill Vinovich. God bless them for it. LINK
